Incident Description:
The last time I rode my bike was the 4th of July. I always walk my bike back after riding in the park. This gives people, especially those who were standing on the corner of Winthrop and Thorndale Ave. at the time, to see the bike's quality. It's a great looking bike. Since the building owners stupidly choose not to have the pedestrian door attached to the car gate to lock, someone could have walked to the back of the garage (which is open to an ally in the back where anyone can walk through, separated only by a chain-link fence). However, since most people who hang out in the streets in this area are never alone, it's possible that multiple people could have found a way to get to the back, open garage area to get to it. It was the only bike that was stolen (even though several other decent bikes were out there), which makes me think it must have been gunned for after seeing me walking it back.
