The bike below was last seen August 27 around 9pm on the corner of 26th and Shields Ave near Carbon. It was on a bike rack and then it wasn't. The hopeful part of me wants to believe that someone picked it up because it magically fell off, but the police said, we may have been swiped while in transit (i.e., at a traffic light). It wasn't locked onto the rack as we were going a short distance (lesson learned) and stoped twice at a light on 26th (the last place we saw it).

My son locked his bike to the bike rack at school (Pilgrim Luthern School) on the corner of W Cullom and N. Winchester Ave in North Center. The school's camera shows a man come across the street, pull lock cutters out of his bag, cut the lock, and jump on the bike and ride away. The man was wearing a white hoodie, black pants, and black baseball hat. He looks like 5'9-5'11' and 25-40 years old (you can see his face very well in the video).

I biked over to my gym, Lincoln Square Athletic Club and arrived around 1:05. I locked my bike up directly to the left of the club on a bike rack in the alley under the Western Brown Line. Right in front of Lincoln Ave. I exited the gym by 1:35 to see that my bike was gone from the rack. I had a lock tied to it. There was also a black bike on the rack that was gone as well when I exited the gym. There was a homeless man smoking a cigarette but claimed he saw nothing happen and that he had just arrived.

Both handlebars were missing the end caps and I replaced the tire air caps with a different metal black version. At least 1 significant scratch on the frame from the lock. It also has a holder for a folding combo bike lock. The bike has a front wheel lock and was locked to a street. There is a sticker on one side of the seat pole that says “E oak” (visible in photo)

It also has a rear splash guard, a metal bottle holder on the frame, and it has a small scratch on the rear part of the bike frame, near where it connects to the rear wheel.

I arrived my work office at 321 N Clark St at 9AM and locked my 2019 Marin San Quentin 1 green mountain bike and bike helmet with a bike lock to the inverted U-shaped bike rack that is bolted into the sidewalk. When I left my office at 12PM the bike and helmet were gone, and all that was left was my cut bike lock on the ground. I believe the lock was cut with a pair of bolt cutters.

At 9:30pm, I arrived to the building via my bike at Fullerton and Hamlin in Logan Square. I entered the back door via the alley, deadbolted the door, parked my bike up against the hallway wall, came upstairs, and went to sleep. By 8:15am the next morning, the door was wide open and my bike, extra lock, bike tools were gone. Unclear how the thief achieved entry to the building.

On 8/20 at approximately 5:45 am, I discovered that my electric bicycles were missing. I have lived at my current address for about five months, and during this time, my bicycles have been chained together under the stairwell in our shared alley. The alley requires either a physical key or access through the ButterflyMX app. I normally check on the bikes daily, and they were present before this morning. Other residents’ bikes remain in the same area. The missing bikes are both electric and have a distinctive Kryptonite red fabric and chain lock that is supposed to be unbreakable. The pink women's bike was a gift from my father and has sentimental value. An AirTag/location tracking had been placed in the silver Wing bike, but appears to no longer be working.
