I was at a friends on 2710 Whipple in Logan Square (cross street is Schubert). I stepped in for a bit, maybe an hour later we came outside to smoke a cigarette... went back in, then I came out to check and see how badly it was raining... bike gone. Cables (2) cut and left at scene.... Someone must have been casing it, because that's a pretty nice neighborhood.

I was in Robert Jeffrey getting a hair cut and my bike was locked at the end of the new bike racks located on the street, beside the sidewalk. My helmet and bike were locked to the rack. I came out to my helmet and cut lock laying on the ground. I don't know if my bike was the only one taken as when I checked on it, there were many bikes locked to the rack. However, my lock was the only one laying on the floor. I filed a police report, but have to find the report number.

It had two sets of brakes, one set on the flat part of the handlebars and one set in the normal place for drop handlebars. A black rack on the back for carrying stuff, and a small gear bag under the seat with tire levers, small multi-tool, etc. in it. A black bell on the handlebars with a painted speedometer on it (the arrow was at 80mph).

Bike stolen off of a third-floor back porch. The back porches are behind locked gates with barbed wire on top. The bike was not visible from the alley behind my apartment building. Thieves left the helmet.
