Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was in garage. Garage door was locked and breached by thieves.Bike was not locked.

My bike was locked to my back porch, and the railing was taken apart to remove it.

Locked to a bike rack outside 77 W Wacker. Lock is gone along with bike.

bike was stolen off front porch sometime in the past week, didn’t see any suspects or evidence of exactly when.

I was out of town when this happened; so I am not sure of incident date or time. The bike was not locked, but was within locked area in my back porch outside of alley. The bike was difficult to see from the alley as it was behind stairs. I did not see any evidence of forced entry or broken locks.

Don't know exact time of theft. Could have occurred any time between November 22, 2018 at 8:00 until November 24, 2018, around 5pm, when we returned from Thanksgiving.

Could've been stolen at any time (according to my friend, the last time he saw it was this morning. So, it was likely stolen from 9:00AM to 2:00 or 3:00PM) The bike was left at a fenced area outside-- behind my friend's apartment building at the time that it was stolen. Fence was black, spiked, and not locked very securely (you could reach your hand through the fence and unlock it from the inside) Image included is a stock image-- I don't have any pictures of my bike because I mistakenly thought that I would not need them.

Locked to bike rack at Jefferson park CTA station in the morning around 7AM came back from work at 5PM and bike was missing. My bike lock was taken with the bike, however there was another bike lock on the ground so there could have been multiple bikes stolen.

Locked bike onto bike rack on north side of Lake Street at Dearborn (in front of 7-11). Locked it at approximately 6:30 p.m. Returned at approximately 8:00 p.m. Locked bike with a new zip tie style lock with a second cable through the front tire.. Thief was able to defeat by breaking it and leaving at scene.

Bike was parked on UIC campus, missing at the end of the day

Bike was left locked at Metra Clybourn station for duration of day as part of daily/recurring commute routine downtown. Left bike at approx 740am, and bike was gone upon returning at approx 6pm.

Locked bike to bike rack on Catalpa right off of Clark at 10am. Returned after dentist appt at 1130 - was gone. other bikes were still there.

Everything was gone, even the lock. It was stolen in front of my place of work, which is a newer building surrounded by cameras.

The bicycle was locked underneath wooden stairs that go up 3 floors on the side of my building. These stairs are locked behind a 15 foot~ gate. The bicycle was mostly out of site. At the scene a white bucket was left outside of the large fence, and the person used it to climb over the fence, they cut the combination lock of the bicycle and walked out.

Bike was inside of an 8ft locked gate overnight, was there at 830pm and gone by 7am this morning. The gate to the locked area was open, and the lock was left unlocked.

I arrived at the property for a party at about 6:30 pm, then left the bike unlocked inside the yard leaning on the fence (on the left hand side) with a U-lock locked to the frame (it doesn't do anything, the wheels can still move freely). I left the property at about 11pm and found my bike was missing. The bike is black with white letters, and equipped with a cargo rack, bike stand, bottle rack, basket and bike light(rear and front). The bike was bought 2 months ago (on August 31) and was in good condition at the time of incident. The yard has a gate which allows residents with keys to enter, but the fence is not high so in principle unauthorized people can still pass over it with some efforts. There is also a camera attached to the wall right above the fence. It should probably have recorded everything during that period, but it is unclear if that camera is for private or public.

I locked up the bike at around 6 PM, left my apartment and returned around 10:30 PM and the bike was still locked to the lightpost in my apartment complex (slightly shielded from the main sidewalk, but only partly concealed). Because my U-lock doesn't fit around the lightpost and the frame of the bike, the frame was attached to the u lock and there was a cable looped around the lightpost attached to the u-lock. This morning when I left my apartment, the bike and the locks were gone, leading me to think that it was stolen during the night.
