Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Left in locked custodial closet on Sunday Jane 10th in early afternoon. I am supposedly the only resident in my building who has access to this closet aside from the housekeeper. I usually also use my bike lock to secure the bike in question to another bike. The other bike is cable fixed to a cinder block. On the day in question, however, because of the weather, my bike lock was frozen and I was not able to use it to secure my bike with the bike lock. As usual though, I locked the door behind me. Supposedly no one else has access to this room. When I returned on the morning of the 12th (approx 8am), the door was open and the light had been turned on. I highly suspect one of the residents was involved, or even more likely, one of the staff who works for my property management company.

The time of the theft is unknown as I was at work

My bike was locked in a padlocked storage cage under ground in my apartments garage. The door was forced open and the bike was stolen.

Courtyard is locked and bike was stolen from courtyard bike rack.

Bike was left on the #49 south at Cermak/Western. I called CTA 79th Garage several times to report my bike from 5pm to current with no luck .

Left the apartment around 2:30 PM on December 31st and returned January 1. Home was broken into via bathroom window and bike stolen from inside the apartment. Not locked to anything inside apartment.

I returned from vacation to find my bike no longer in the stairwell. Asking around, other neighbors report stolen bikes as well

Someone was got into our common areas and took a few UPS packages and took my bike. The ulock was on the frame, it's a Kryptonite combo lock.

I woke up early for work and didn't see my bike where I usually lock it. I last locked it at 6pm the night prior.

Parking lot behind waveland bowling at addison and western. Thief lifted bike on the pole.

I check my bike daily and this morning I went down this morning and it was gone. This was locked to the metal stairs in a somewhat secure area that only residents should be able to access.

Bike was taken out of closed garage

Left it out in front of the dollar tree (oakdale rd and Floyd ave)near the left entrance door for no more then 3 minutes

Bike was locked with a U-lock through a pair of I-bolts in the wooden post that supports the back porch. Thief entered fenced back yard via unknown means and apparently pulled the I-bolts out of the post, and disappeared with bike, lock and I-bolts.

Gained access to basement without force, probably spare keys hid outside by neighbors. Other items stolen from basement as well. Basement had both pad lock + deadbolt, but neither had been damaged.

Was last ridden 12/10/15. Discovered it missing on 12/22/15. The bike room is only accessible via a key fob for building residents. I am awaiting the surveillance video from my building so I can pinpoint when and by whom it was stolen. Will update. Was also stolen with a brand new, matte white, Louis Garneau helmet.

Bike was placed outside on Dec 12th on the back porch of our apartment. Hadn't realized the bike was missing until Dec 20 2015 as only been coming through the front door for the whole week. Gate in the back of the apartment complex may have been open as it seizes up when cold outside. Reported to property management group.
