Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked to pole on North East corner of Michigan Ave and Oak St...steps away from the "Michigan and Oak St "Divy station. Bike was left locked to pole for less then two hours. When we returned cut lock was laying on ground, bike gone.

I locked my bike outside

Bike was locked to bike rack at entrance to millennium parking garage across from Modern Wing entrance of Art Institute on Monroe (north side of Monroe). We were in Art Institute for 2 hours. Lock was cut, but taken with. Velcro strap for lock was left at scene.

I left town on July 1st around 11:15 pm and came home on July 3rd and discovered it missing at about 4:30 pm and whoever took it also cut my cable lock which was not locked to the bike at the time. Bike was kept in my building's basement where our storage units and washing machines are. No other bikes downstairs appear to have been tampered with and no locks in our building were damaged to gain entry.

Bike was locked to a street sign with a strong u lock. Sign was uprooted and bike removed.

Brought bike home at 6pm to lock up in basement of our 3 story apartment building, went to get it to ride to work at 8am next day - gone. Lock had been cut, doors and basement light left wide open.

I locked the bike in the back parking lot...at 100 South Morgan St; Chicago, IL 60607 at approximately 18:15. I used a Kryptonite U-lock on the rear triangle to lock the frame, the bike and a bar from the fence and the steel cable around the front tire. When I came out at 23:00 the bike was gone, no lock visible. I'm pretty sure someone used a grinder, but can't tell as no lock was left.

Bike was stored in my garage. Left up garage door locked but side door that opens into fenced yard was not locked.

Bike was locked to one of about 7 bike rakes full of other bikes just outside the Professional Building at Rush Medical Center on Paulina Street near Harrison St. Went inside for a doctor's appointment and my bike was gone when I came out. Security guards just inside the building were less than helpful, were not interested and didn't know what to do. Someone actually reported suspicious activity at this same time to a guard who did nothing to prevent the theft. This is a heavily trafficked area with people passing by constantly. I also found a silver road bike next to mine that was unlocked. I suspect that thieves took the lock but were spooked before they could take the bike. The security guards didn't want to take the bike that I brought inside the building. I just left it there with them and told them to keep an eye on it and wait for the owner.

I saw my bike at lunch, but when I returned at the end of the work day it was gone. It was locked to a bike rack right outside the Merchandise Mart on Orleans St.

Left bike, as always, outside lock-in door to building to run around and unlock. (<30 second trip). Street hustler at local shop stole, then a few hours later tried to sell to building doorman, who unfortunately failed to seize the bike. Missing since.

Bike was inside locked walkway of apartment property leaning against wooden fence between fence and building. Went outside randomly around 3 p.m., saw bike missing. Was home entire time.

Locked bike last night after returning from bike store. Came out this afternoon to find it missing with just the front wheel remaining.
