Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I moved my bike out of the garage at 5818 w Giddings to do repairs on the garage door. Bike went missing between 6pm on 11/10/2023 and 3pm on 11/11/2023.

Bike was seemingly taken from bike room

Stolen from garage. Nothing else was taken - likely rode it away.

Garage door was accidentally left open for 20-30 minutes. Realized bike was missing later in the day.

My bike is left within a locked stairwell next to my door up 3 flights of stairs. The incident must have occured over night from Friday Nov 3rd to Saturday Nov 4th as I woke up Saturday to my bike missing. I live in a 3 flat apartment, and someone broke into our back door and took my bike and my neighbors bike.

A man broke into the locked bike room in the basement of our apartment complex and cut the lock from my bike. Removed both the bike lock and bike from the room. He is caught on video, but no response from police.

I left my bike locked at the orange line Pulaski train station outside bike rack. I locked it on the front bar that holds the wheel.

Thief stole four bikes from our garage. We located one (via AirTag) at 5038 N Western Ave. thief had already moved (or better hidden) the other three, including this bike.

My bike was locked along with my helmet next to the bus stop at Sheridan/Argyle. I went into my friends' for about 3 hours and when I came out everything was gone. The bike rack is fine. I really want to find it. The picture I uploaded is the same make and model but not my exact one.

The whole bike is missing along with the Ulock and wire cable.

My Jamis Coda was stolen from behind a locked gate overnight.

Unsure of exactly what time the bike was stolen, I use it frequently and pass by where I keep it daily - went to take it today around 4pm and noticed it was missing. Our backyard is set away from the street behind a parking space, and through a gate. I routinely stored my bike unlocked below our raised deck in the backyard. Bike was listed on Craigslist 15 minutes after I noticed it missing, and the listing was deleted about 1 hour later.

I was working on my bike in the front of my house behind a 7ft tall locked fence I went inside for15min looking for a tool. In that time someone jumped two locked fences to grab it at 7pm.

I locked my bike to the rack outside the east entrance to Regenstein Library on the University of Chicago campus at 8am. It was gone when I left work at 4pm

I store unlocked bike under the porch stairs in my locked fenced in yard. Around 3:30pm I saw an older black man in a long sleeve black shirt with a grey backpack riding my aqua retrospec bike in front of my house on s. Greenwood ave. I immediately recognized my bike because it is girly and has a distinct black basket- and I hollered after him "What the fuck, I can see you!" I did not see how he broke into the yard, but heard the gate clang as he left. I ran out and saw all of my belongings from the basket scattered in my yard. He turned left onto 65th st and turned south down the alleyway between Ellis and S Greenwood. I used a divvy to try and catch up and find my bike, thinking he would throw it because I saw him steal it, and also it is notorious for popped tires and riding down the alley would be risky with how flat the tires are right now. By the time I followed him, I lost him. A mail lady may have seen turn down 68th street. I uploaded a picture from when it was new. It no longer has a yellow basket or like-new shine. I am on a new set of handlebar grips which have ripped on the end and slide towards the center. Its a little rustier looking, and says retrospec in white on the base. It has a wide brown cruiser seat seat which has a water stain, and doesnt move up and down, which is why he looked a goddamn fool and caught my eye trying to ride it. Please help find it, I am a poor grad student!
