Basic Bike Info

Bicycle Type:
Mountain Bike

medium sized frame and wheels for medium adult woman

Condition of Bicycle / Distinguishing Features:
This was a bike in good condition, and it was about a 1999 model. Black shock absorber seat, red light on the back behind the seat. I had a mount for my cable lock in between the handlebars. The thief left my front tire, so front tire may either be missing or not match the back tire.

Incident Description

Which type of area was your bike stolen from?:
Porch or yard.
How long was the bike locked in this location?:
10.5 hours exactly
Incident Description:
The thief/s were somehow able to take off my front tire and maneuver around the lock and stole the frame and back tire. I obviously must not have secured the frame enough. However, it appears the bike next to mine was stolen by cutting a cable lock, so I'm guessing the thief/s would have just cut my cable lock anyway. The opinion of both the police officer I spoke with and a local bike owner is that the bike is probably now out of the neighborhood - like on the North Side, suburbs, etc. Note: the closest photo I was able to find was a picture of the male version of this bike being sold on Craigslist. Photo is attached.
