Sidewalk in front of an open business.
How long was the bike locked in this location?:
We were away from the bike for 2 hours, but talked to an employee of a nearby buisness that did not recall seeing the bike on a smoke break 30 minutes after we left it.
Incident Description:
We biked downtown to run the Hot Chocolate 5k/15k. We locked the bike up at about 7:30 am (give or take 10 minutes). I wrapped a cable around and through the back wheel, wrapped it around the rear handlebar/seat (it is quick release), and then up through the frame and to the front wheel, and then hooked that through my Kryptonite u-lock locking the front wheel to the bike rack. Everything was gone when we returned at about 10 am. I don't know how they defeated the lock, or if somehow it didn't latch it completely---But I use this lock every day to lock up my bike when I commute to work, so I have a hard time believing that I would have messed that up.
