The bike was a few years old but just recently tuned up with a brand new chain. It has a trek service sticker on it from Pittsburgh, PA which I assume is pretty rare here in Chicago. It also had a cheap schwinn tail light on the rear and a mini air pump strapped the frame.

Incident Description

Sidewalk in front of an open business.
How long was the bike locked in this location?:
4-5 hours
Incident Description:
I had biked to work and locked it to the bike rack outside of my office as I have done for the past few weeks. I saw the bike when I went to lunch at around 12:30pm but when I left the office at 4:30 it was gone. There was no sign of it being stolen just no longer on the bike rack. I used a cable with an integrated key lock which I've used for years but clearly that was not enough to keep my bike safe.
