Incident Description:
Bike was locked to bike rack across the street from the entrance of the Central Street el stop, about about 30 feet from an Evanston Fire Department garage. Bike was locked overnight from about 9:00 and was discovered missing around 5:00 p.m. the next day. Central Street was probably quiet so thieves found it easy to cut the lock and ride off without being noticed (but pretty gutsy next to the fire station!). Photo of bike is from REI site and NOT an actual photo of the stolen bike. We learned our lesson -- we're photographing all bikes from now on!
