Incident Description:
On Thursday 30th/6 around 3pm, my roomate (Sarabeth Avila Abud) rode my bike, which I agree to lend, from home North Harbor Tower to the Museum of Cotemporary Art (MCA). She went to visit a mutual friend, Bana Kattan, who works for the museum. She locked my bike to the bike rack located in the corner of E. Chicago Av and Mies Van de Rohe. This bike rack is close to the entrance to the museum giftstore and next to the bus stop. Around 4:30, when she was ready to go back home, she realized that the bike wasn't in the place she locked it. She went to the museum's Security Office to see if they had evidence on the event (video). After she described what happened, the museum's Security Office told her that they have a video about the incident. She was told that the video shows that around 4:30 pm an African American man, about 6 foot tall, who was wearing black t-shirt and blue hat, stole the bike. The man arrived to the bike rack to lock the bike he was biking. He locked his bike next to mine, and then after a couple of minutes he left the place riding my bike. She was told that I should write this on the report: for more information about the video please contact Eddie Salie, Director of Security at the MCA. You can contact him at 312 397 3887 ext. 397 The image of the bike that I uploaded, is similar to my bike. I don“t have a picture of it. My roomate and I just graduated from SAIC. She is almost moving out of the States and I am moving to another apartment.
