Incident Description:
Apparently a regular occurrence at the Metra station. My better lock was lost, and I was using a cheaper cable lock. The South side of the tracks has a commuter bicycle parking area along a throughway with a park and a church where plenty of folks park bicycles using the racks. On any day, there are 8+ bicycles parked there on that side. The ticketing station is on the opposite side of the tracks.
No security at the location; the lockers are all leased already. No evidence of the theft was left. However, I parked at 7:30a and did not return until 5:40p so I do not know the exact time of theft nor if the cable was cut and later cleaned up as trash.
