Recovery Information
Recovery Notes:
On July 12 2013 the victim wrote:
Hi, Thanks to this web site my sons bike was recovered. Someone monitoring this site found my sons bike listed on craigslist and sent me an email with the link. I arranged a time to see the bike and the Evanston police met the seller and recovered the bike. Police believe seller did not know it was stolen and didn’t charge him with possession of stolen property. I did not meet the person and am not convinced he was the choir boy they police made him out to be. Luckily, we got the bike back. Lessons learned… know the serial number, have a picture of the bike, use two locks and if stolen file a police report and post it on Chicago stolen bike registry.
Much gratitude [owner name]
