Basic Bike Info
Bicycle Type:
Hybrid Bike
Serial No.:
WTU021C0856B
Size:
Standard Men's Bicycle
Color:
Silver
Condition of Bicycle / Distinguishing Features:
Bike is a 2007, but is gently used and in very good condition. This year, I replaced the original pedals with aftermarket pedals that are bronze/copper in color. There is a gel type seat cover over the original seat. There is also a black pouch mounted to the seat post (under the seat) for carrying small items. On the handle bars there is a small bell mounted as well as the bracket for a digital speedometer. The digital speedometer display fell off while I was biking years ago, but the mount remains secured to the handlebars and wire still runs down the frame with zip ties to the sensors on the spokes of the wheel.

Incident Description:
The post that I used to lock the frame of my bike to is a large 8"x8" wood patio post that is cemented into the ground. I used my U-lock to lock between the front tire and the frame of the bike, and used a cable with padlock to lock the frame of the bike to the large post. In public locations, I would use the locks in the opposite application (i.e. U-lock frame to something secure) but the post was too large and this was in a discrete location in the back of my home, not visible from the street. I assume the thief cut the cable (and took it with him/her) and then took the entire bike with the U-lock to go break the U-lock off-site.
