This is a cargo bike, also called a longtail. Has an extra-long back end. Padded passenger deck on the back for small passenger. Bike is all black, 4 water bottle cages. Extra set of handlebars for the rear passenger. There are semi-permanently attached bags along the extended back. Bike is in very good condition. Heavy - would take 2 people to carry.
**The handlebars, both front and back ones, are different than the ones in the pic. Currently, the front bars have ergon grips and the back ones have a straighter all black handlebar**

backyard where I live. Stolen the night of 10/30/13.
Incident Description:
Most likely happened after midnight. Thieves used an old suitcase they took from the alley to get over our fence (6 ft wooden fence). Unlocked the gate from the inside to get the bike out of the yard. This is not a common bike!! I have only seen a few other Big Dummies in Chicago in the past few years. The bike frame has the older "swoop" top tube.

On June 26 2014 the victim wrote: A friend (who also happens to be a member of the CPD and a fellow Big Dummy owner) was passing by a pawn shop on Lawrence Ave and saw the bike in the window. Knowing that my bike had been stolen in the Fall he stopped in to check it out and to check the serial number. Of course, it was a match! He then contacted me and the appropriate unit within the CPD. It took about one week from the bike being identified as mine for it to return to me. Today I was able to pick up my bike. There is now an active investigation taking place by the CPD. I am hopeful the thief/thieves can be caught and brought to trial but if not, at least I have my bike back.
Such great news for me! I never expected to see my bike again.
