Incident Description:
My building is constantly under construction and the workers do not maintain any level of security; today they were painting my door, the hallway floor, and stairs. I had a very narrow space to walk and it did not allow me to carry my bike up to my apartment before I had to leave for work at 4:30pm. I had my bike locked to wooden stair banister, while the paint dried. This is located in a small space, below street level hidden by fences and buildings--IT IS NOT VISIBLE FROM THE STREET! I returned home to an open gate leading to my bike at about 10:00pm to find my bike was missing and the banister was broken.
I find it hard to believe someone walked in the backyard from the street to just "FIND" my bike. The workers have access 24/7 and are the only ones beside my couple of neighbors would would have known it was there.
