The bike lock was left at the scene, locked. This suggests that someone was able to pick the lock.

When I went out in the morning of October 6th, the bike was no longer in front of the building. It had been locked to the fence with a cable combination lock. I had not used the bike in at least 4 days. I assume that someone came during the night after scouting the building and seeing the bike there, and with a cable cutter snapped the cable and stole the bike.
