Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Sometime between 9:30 PM on June 12th, 2013 and 7 AM on June 13th someone stole my Jamis Satellite Sport from our locked stairwell that has access to only a few units.

Date and time are approximate. This bike was not locked, but within the confines of the locked apartment complex (side entry). It was tucked away near some stairs with 2 other unlocked bikes. The bikes are not visible from the alley, but can be seen by the apartment building directly North. Only a short chain link fence separates the 2 apartment complexes. Either someone from the neighboring building jumped the fence, a stranger climbed the tall back gate, or someone within my apartment complex stole it. They left my U Lock and black helmet on the ground.

Left the bike in my garage around 3pm Sunday went to get it Monday morning it was gone no sign of forced entry.

Left Bike outside Fizz Bar on a Monday night because of a huge storm and came back a 2 weeks later to pick up and it was gone. I've left the bike locked outside multiple times over the course of 5 years and always u-lock frame with the front wheel and have never had a problem.

I was sitting near a tree eating some burger king when, who I believe were youths came by and took it before I knew what was happening

Someone removed sign and took my bike.

Sometime after midnight and before 6 AM, the metal hand railing from my front steps was completely removed, along with the bike and chain.

Went inside friend's apartment in Lakeview area. Played video games for about an hour and a half. Locked bike to gate outside. It was one of five or so bikes locked to gate outside. When I returned, lock and bike was gone. I called police and filed a police report. None of the other bikes or locks were taken or tampered with.

I locked the bike through both wheels to pole, and went in to private home for an hour and a half. When I came out, it was gone.

The bike was cable and U locked to a no parking sign, my landlord said she saw it 2 hours ago 4:00pm. The cable was possibly cut, or the whole bike was lifted over the sign which is over 10' tall.

Locked my bike at the Western-Orange line CTA train station, early in the morning, to the designated bike rack in front of the station. Returned at night after work and my bike and cable lock was missing. Two weeks prior to this incident, my front wheel was stolen. Last weekend, my u-lock(at that time I had a cable and a u-lock) appeared to have been tampered with and was no longer usable. This bike rack is not hidden or secluded. It is directly in front of the station, in view of the CTA booth/guard shack. All incident happened on the weekend. I have been locking my bike at this station for 2years.

Bike was inside a locked garage that has two garage doors. One of the doors had the top panel of the door pushed in and knocked rollers off garage door track. Thief gained access by standing on the hood of a car parked in front of garage door. Crawled in & climbed out with two bikes.

Bike Was locked in a garage that has 2 rolling doors. Both doors were locked but the top panel of one of the garaged doors was broken and pushed in. Thief climbed in and out of this 2 1/2 ft space with help of the hood of a car parked in front of garage door. Specialized Sirrus stolen also.

I went to work at The Publican and after coming out from my shift, my rear wheel had been stolen.

Bike was locked to my wife's bike on a bike rack. It was at 11:00 AM during wells street art fair in the middle of the day!

According to security footage it was a young male and female with possible bolt cutters on hand; they had no backpack, bolt cutters were on hand.

The bike was stolen from a keyed internal room. It's likely a former tenant stole the bike as they were moving out of the building.
