bike was locked with u-lock to bike rack, plus a separate cobra cable lock was used to lock wheels to bike rack. Looks like U-lock was cut with an angle grinder. Looks like cable was probably cut with bolt cutters.

Bike was stolen sometime between 12:45 PM and 6:45 PM. I used the Kryptonite New York Standard U-lock, locking the frame and front wheel to the wave-style rack along the Chicago River at 100 S. Wacker Drive. I double check the lock each time I lock up so it was definitely locked and secure. I did find a piece of rubber sleeve but it looks like the sleeve that goes around the lock holder on the frame and not from the lock itself. Other than that, there were no other pieces left.

Bike was locked inside house storage room. Someone pried the lock with a copper pipe. Attaempted to get away with 3 bikes but left 2 a block down the alley. Cannondale is still missing.

I keep my bike on the 2nd floor landing of the inside of my apartment building. It isn’t locked inside the building, because it’s inside, and the front door locks. It was there when I came down the front to let a friend up, but when i went down the next morning on monday the 20th it was gone. It was stolen sometime after 4pm on Sunday Jan 19th from the inside of the building. The front door needs to be pulled shut, and sometimes people forget to do it in the building, so i think the door must have been not fully closed and someone was just able to get in that way.

Bike stolen from bike room in apartment building. Cable cut and u-lock and bike missing.

My bike was in the locked front room of my apartment complex. It has been there since July 2019. Both my bike and my boyfriend's bike have been there for a long time, without a problem. Today, when my boyfriend left the house at 8AM the bikes were there. When I returned home from a workout class at 2PM, the bikes were gone. Our janitorial crew came in around 10:00AM and the bikes were already missing. Stolen alongside boyfriend's Giant Escape 2 Disc bike.

My bike was in the locked front room of my apartment complex. It has been there since July 2019. Both my bike and my girlfriend's bike have been there for a long time, without a problem. Today, when I left the house at 8AM the bikes were there. When my girlfriend returned home from a workout class at 2PM, the bikes were gone. I believe that the garage door was opened and somebody took it out of the garage.

At about 5:30pm, I locked my bike to the newest bike rack at the corner of Washington & State right outside the Disney store. My friend locked his bike to the same rack as me at about 6:00pm. He says my bike was still there when he locked up. At 8:00pm, I returned to the bike rack and my bike was gone. It was locked with a new folding lock (ABUS Bordo 6000)

Bike was locked on the SW corner of Kinzie & Wells, underneath the L station by the Merchandise Mart. I locked it to the rack with a Kryptonite lock through the frame, with a separate cable running from the lock through the saddle. Locked the bike at 7:30pm, by 10pm it was gone. No trace of the bike or the lock.

Left my bike locked in front of mariano's to the bike rack. I went to work and when I came back 8 hrs later it was gone with no lock to be found.

Bike and lock missing sometime at night between December 25-29th.

My wife and I left town 12/23/19 for the holidays, returned on 12/29/19 @ 3:30pm CST to find my bright orange 2018 Trek FX1 bike was stolen off my 2nd floor back balcony in the Lake View East neighborhood. The thief must have climbed 10+ feet of steel beams and railing to get to where my bike was.

Bike was locked to bike rack in front of 2 N LaSalle St and stolen on 12/26/2019 between 2:30pm and 5:00pm. Lock was missing.

Middle Ages white or Hispanic heavyset man cut both locks with a dremel. Sparks going everywhere. Took him five minutes. Ok broad daylight in front of Block 37 (22 west Washington street, right by main entrance to a morningstar offices. Lots of foot traffic but no one challenges him. He rode off with it. An accomplice rode with him on a separate bike. All captured on security camera.

Bike was locked to back stairwell behind building, not visible from the alley, on Tuesday Dec 17th 5pm. Sometime between then and Saturday Dec 21st 9:45pm, part of the stairwell was removed along with the bike and u-lock. Other bikes in the same area, including 2 that were not locked down to anything, were not touched.

I threaded my thick cable lock through the back tire of the bike and through the frame at around 6pm. When I left my friend's apartment at 11pm, the bike and lock were nowhere to be found. My friend even drove me around the neighborhood to look around for it. I have two theories: either the cable was cut, or the sign I locked the bike to was not as sturdy as I though it was and someone was able to take it out of the ground and take the bike, still locked, and wheel it away by using the uninhibited front tire.
