Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I locked my bike up around 12:30 am that day. I went to go check on my bike that afternoon and it was gone.

Assailant jumped backyard fence via neighbor's open garage, came through door entrance into garage, opened the garage door, took the bike off the rack and rode away.

Came down at 9am on Fri July 5th to an open garage and missing bike. It is unclear whether we accidentally left the door open ourselves or whether the door misfunctioned or whether the thief broke in. This is a 2-car residential garage directly on busy Montrose Ave.

My bike was stolen out of our 3 flat apartment bldg which we rent and just moved into Dec 2019. We know another tenant left the back door of our bldg not completely shut as there was no forced entry. Bike was on our enclosed porch on the 3rd floor. Our Kitchen door was locked and this opens onto the enclosed porch. Went to bed at 11pm on 14 July 2019- woke up at 5:30am 15 July 2019 to discover that the bike was gone. There is a sea of opportunists in our neighborhood trying every which way to find a compromised access into anyone's residence, single or shared. Of the 3 floors (3 units only, so not a large bldg) after entering the thieves came up all three floors looking for easily accessible and expensive items; my bike was the best item of all three floors. Aftermath is i saw the backyard gate wide open (it does not have a lock and is a chain link, so anyone can see into the yard.) with a neighbor tenant's items strewn against the back of our bldg. We could only surmise the door was left ajar either fully or minimally, as i have found previously to be our neighbor tenant's unfortunate habit.

I assume my cable was cut during the night when I left my bike locked up behind my apartment. I locked it at around 9 pm and it was gone at 10:30 am

The bikes are on the porch and are attached to the railing of the porch. The porch is on the second floor of the apartment complex. The porch contained multiple bikes (3). Only one was stolen.

Locked for 4 hours. on randolph street at the northern extrace to maggie daley park. none of lock left behind. was next to many other cycles.

Bike was locked to the chainlink fence surrounding my backyard all day while we moved into our new apartment. Last seen at 8 pm on Sat July 13. Discovered missing at 6 am Sun July 14. Lock also missing.

Bike was in an area where there is always 10 people minimum outside as it is also a popular bus stop right outside the Pulaski Blue Line Station. Station attendent was surprised anyone bothered to take it. Police report was immediately filed.

Bike was locked to wooden structure at north ave beach. Wood pole was broken and bike was taken.

We moved into our new apartment yesterday. In all the commotion of unloading we left three bikes in the backyard by accident - enclosed by a fence, and not visible from the street. In the morning we remembered them, went outside, and they were gone.

We moved in on the 14th. In the commotion of unpacking, we left three bikes in the back yard overnight. The back yard is fenced in and not visible from the street. We remembered them at 6am. We went out and they were gone. The attached picture is of a similar bike of the same make / model / color.

At some point during the night of July 12 into the early morning hours of July 13, our 6" fence was hopped and garage lock was picked. Thief got away with a 2011 SE Lager black/purple road bike.

Bike was locked to a street sign on the SE corner of Sheridan and Glenlake at about 11:10am with an Abus Bordo lock. By the time I returned at 12:15 my bike and lock were gone.

Description of vehicle involved – Color: Silver, White, and Gold, Make: Fuji, Model: Newest 1.0, Year: 2012, Type: Bicycle, License plate: N/A, Other details: Stolen between 9:15am and 7pm Thursday July 11, 2019 Stolen from Metra Train Station in Glencoe between 9:11am and 7pm. Cable lock secured through frame and wheels to U-Lock that was securing my other bike.
