Today, my bike was stolen from work. I am working with the security staff to get video of the area where it was locked up at, but I am posting this in the hopes that everyone will share it far and wide. The bike was stolen from the corner of Archer and Lawndale from World's Finest Chocolate between 7am - 3:30pm. The bike was a Trek Kaitai Gary Fisher Edition. http://www.trekbikes.com/…/…/Trek/p/2011_2325600-Kaitai.html There are two photos in this post - one of my bike (by the lake this summer), and then a picture of the model I had. Also, there is a link that gives a detailed description of the bike in general. The bike I owned is white, green and black. I put an aftermarket rear rack, slip in pedals, and a rear plastic fender on it. The bike has a 21in frame. It has 28 x 1 3/8 x 1 5/8 wheels. Bike was parked in the parking lot of an apartment residence, near an alleyway. I think that someone had noticed that the bike hadn't been moved in a few days and cut the lock and took the bike. The lock was left on the bike rack. The cut was straight.

Bike was stolen from locked basement storage area sometime in early to mid October, 2015. It is a maroon and cream Schwinn women's beach cruiser. At the time of theft, it had a black storage basket attached to the front. Also stolen was a black/dark gray U Lock. It's not a common Chicago street bike. It's made for mostly leisure rides on wider paths because of the wider handlebars. Brand new, only ridden a couple of times.

My bike was locked to a metal pole (closed at both ends) in the side area of my apartment building (enclosed). There is currently construction being done on the building and the contractors apparently are wedging the back gate open. When I went outside this morning the bike was gone, along with the lock. There were bits of rubber on the ground but no metal. The lock was a Kryptonite Series 2.
