Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Left garage for 6 hours. Returned to find bike was stolen.

My bike was located in our locked storage unit in our apartment building in the basement. The latch on our storage unit (not the actual lock) was cut through with tin snips. In order to access the basement, one would need a key to both the front door to get in and the basement door for the laundry room and storage units. Foul play, we think so too.. No other units were broken into, just ours. We reside in a Hayes Property Building.

After taking the trash out the automatic garage door was closed but in some instances the door either doesn't close or because we are under low flying planes sometimes the door mysteriously opens. Since the garage door was open most of the night the thieves attempted to steal another bike which was locked to a shelf and a large object. The bike that was stolen was tucked toward the front of the garage (opposite the large door) and was obscured with bungie cords and other items although it was not fomally locked to the wall as is the normal case.

Bike was taken between the hours of 6pm 7th May and 11am 8th May from the secure garage

we believe the bike to have been taken from our yard some time between May 6th the evening and May 7th morning. Probably in the middle of the night. We live in Avondale, and it was somewhat secure in our side yard against a fence, unlocked. We have left many things out here like scooters, strollers over night for long periods of time. This bike had been outside for a few days as well, though we normally put it in our basement. It was taken overnight.

I suspect it was stolen very recently. My bike was locked to my another bike and to the bike rack on the bottom floor of the garage. The locks were cut and the other bike was not taken meaning it had been stolen sometime in early May.

Bike was kept in a locked garage. Access is normally locked from every possible entry point. The bike itself wasn't kept locked, since the garage has been secure for over 8 years. My wife came out the morning of May 2nd to find both garage doors wide open, and my bike gone. Her bike, our tandem bike, our dog bike trailer, and our landlord's car were all untouched. Nobody knows how or why the garage was open.

noticed bike was missing on morning of 5/3 had seen the bike in place around 5pm on the evening of 5/2. Lock was still attached to the fence and bike was gone. The fence bars were visibly bent ! Can only think I accidentally locked around the frame instead of through it and they were able to take the wheel and handlebars off the get the bike out :(

My apartment building has a detached garage where we park our car and store some items. My bikes hang from the ceiling and the garage is locked at all times. Returning from a grocery run this week, someone had gained entry into our locked garage, took my bike and replaced it with their junky bike

I keep my bike under my apartment back porch, which is enclosed by two locked high gates. Last parked evening of Sunday, April 26th, discovered missing afternoon of Tuesday, April 28.

Bike was stolen from grand plaza bike room. Bike storage room was located on 3rd floor of building parking garage at 540 n State st. Building manager said room was entered by two men wearing hoodies and bikes were stolen from the room on 4/23

I locked my bike to go to work at 12. At 1:45, I went outside and my bike was missing without the lock.

It was in front of Walgreens on 4000 W 59th St Chicago, IL 60629 United States the one In front of 711 and next to Pete’s fresh market and pizza nova

Biked to work from 6451 N. Mozart St to 5215 N. California St at 8am. Arrived and locked bike to bike rack located in front of Swedish Medical Pavilion at 8:15am. Lock was through the front tire, frame and bike rack multiple times. Left work at 2:15pm and found that bike was missing. Contact Swedish Security and they did not have cameras facing bike rack. They did not have footage of anyone on a roadbike between these hours, so they believe the person went north on California. I have contacted the CPD and I am waiting on a return phone call to file police report

so bike wasn't locked in garage (first mistake), went downstairs to garage 7:15am CST Friday, April 24, garage was open and bike was missing, hadn't been down to garage over past 2 days when bike was hung back up and garage was closed

Bike stolen from assigned storage space in laundry/storage units room. No lock on our unit. Bikes last seen on April 18th. Bike was stolen with another registered stolen bike under Aaron Kanfer, a Diamondback Menona dark blue hybrid with disk brakes. My suspicion is that a resident of the building noticed we had yet to get a lock for our bikes took them to sell, considering it’s a gated building. I bought this bike for my birthday two years ago with money I got for a promotion I worked my butt off for, feeling sad about this unfortunate situation. Thank you for your time.

Two bikes stolen from assigned storage space in basement laundry/storage units room in apartment building. The other bike registered to Meghan McKern was a Fuji Feather Chrome with brown leather seat and brown leather on the handles. A Bulldog bike lock was attached on the frame. Incident could have occurred between April 18-21. Area Rogers Park, between Touhy and Jarvis near Sheridan Avenue. Thank you for your time.
