Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The bicycle was locked underneath wooden stairs that go up 3 floors on the side of my building. These stairs are locked behind a 15 foot~ gate. The bicycle was mostly out of site. At the scene a white bucket was left outside of the large fence, and the person used it to climb over the fence, they cut the combination lock of the bicycle and walked out.

Bike was inside of an 8ft locked gate overnight, was there at 830pm and gone by 7am this morning. The gate to the locked area was open, and the lock was left unlocked.

I arrived at the property for a party at about 6:30 pm, then left the bike unlocked inside the yard leaning on the fence (on the left hand side) with a U-lock locked to the frame (it doesn't do anything, the wheels can still move freely). I left the property at about 11pm and found my bike was missing. The bike is black with white letters, and equipped with a cargo rack, bike stand, bottle rack, basket and bike light(rear and front). The bike was bought 2 months ago (on August 31) and was in good condition at the time of incident. The yard has a gate which allows residents with keys to enter, but the fence is not high so in principle unauthorized people can still pass over it with some efforts. There is also a camera attached to the wall right above the fence. It should probably have recorded everything during that period, but it is unclear if that camera is for private or public.

I locked up the bike at around 6 PM, left my apartment and returned around 10:30 PM and the bike was still locked to the lightpost in my apartment complex (slightly shielded from the main sidewalk, but only partly concealed). Because my U-lock doesn't fit around the lightpost and the frame of the bike, the frame was attached to the u lock and there was a cable looped around the lightpost attached to the u-lock. This morning when I left my apartment, the bike and the locks were gone, leading me to think that it was stolen during the night.

Bike was locked to itself on my porch, in a fenced in back yard. Was stolen sometime between 11/15/2018-11/17/2018.

The bike was left near 205 N Michigan Ave/E Lake Street. There are bike racks near the CVS where there are signs that read tow zone, parking for consulate only. The bike was locked there.

Bike stolen from inside an interior porch, not visible from outside, protected by 8ft wrought iron fence with locked gate. Gate was locked at 8am but found open at 9am. The gate opens without a key from the inside.

Was at laundrymat at Diversey/Kimball/Milwaukee, bike was outside being watched the whole time, when clothes were in dryer, I stepped out to the dunkin donuts right next to the laundrymat and in those 30 or so seconds from walking from one place to the other, ordering, and paying, I felt something was not right & turned around and my bike was gone. according to dunkin donuts' survallience videos, a white van pulled up near my bike, a young male abut 5'8, white or hispanic, jumped out, and rode my bike away.

The bike was left on a secluded corner back porch, with locking skewers and the front wheel locked to the frame but not to anything else (I know, I know, laziness). I left it in place the night before and did not go to ride it until early evening the next day so the theft could have happened any time over night or during the day. Not much else is kept on the porch but nothing else was taken and there was no sign of attempted entry into the apartment.

Bike was laid down in the back of our mini-van, car was parked out front of our apartment on W Superior St just west of Ashland. Car was parked at midnight (thursday night/friday morning) locked. Upon returning to the car at noon on friday, Nov 9th, the small rear window had been broken, and the bike was gone. There is an office building across the street that attracts lots of employees/people looking for parking/traffic starting at ~8am - I assume the incident occurred in the very early morning hours (1am-7am) - I'm including a stock photo of the exact model/colors.

Garage door was either accidentally left open or they hopped the fence to get into my garage and pop the lock on the garage side door

Bike was stolen from in front of 231 S Lasalle Bike rack on 11/1/2018.

Our apartment was broken into. Our bikes were stolen from inside the apartment, locks and all. Jamis Satellite and a red and black paramount.

Bike stolen from common area in condo building. Was one of 10 bikes stolen over the weekend of 9/26/18. Thieves gained entry by prying open front door. Common storage area was not locked.

The wooden fence that the bike was locked to appeared to be taken apart with a drill. They took the lock with the bike. I don't know the exact time of theft, but found it the night of October 30th after work. The fence is part of our back porch so the theif came up onto it to take it apart.
