Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Most likely happen Sunday night. Was last seen at 8pm, gone Monday morning at 10am.

Bike locked to a bike rack on the street between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on 9/18/16. Cable lock cut and left at the scene.

Bike was inside building hallway, up a flight of stairs, locked to a small shelf in the hallway. Thief took shelf and bike down the stairs, broke the shelf up on the street and carried the bike away

Parked the bike at Kimball brown line stop to go downtown, and upon arrival of 1-2am the next day, the bike and lock was completely missing.

We got home got home on Saturday around 11:30 pm. Woke up on Saturday morning and the bike was missing from the front yard of our apartment building.

Bike was locked up outside of Riot Fest on the fence just west of the entrance on Sacramento and Ogden. Numerous other bikes were in the area as well as police and other security. A thief still managed to cut both cable locks and remove the bike in broad daylight. Once I realized my bike had been stolen, I stayed near the area to try and find a police office to file a report as well as look for indications of which direction the thief might have gone. In that time, I observed two other middle-aged, African American, males who seemed to be 'casing' the area looking for other target bikes to steal. When I saw them checking out bikes while walking along the fence, I asked them 'is that your bike?' and in both cases, the proceeded to mutter back at me and quickly made their way across the street and out of sight.

Went to the office around 9:30 am. Locked up my bike on a rack along Canal. There were other bikes also locked up. I left the office around 4 and my bike was not there. I asked security if the buildings cameras could see that rack but they checked and it couldn't see around the building.

I accidentally left my bike in our gated back entry. The bike was not locked. The gates were locked, but if you *really* want to steal a bike it's not too hard to jump over those gates and pass the bike back over to a friend, which is what I assume happened. Not sure what time, or even exactly what day, but I'm pretty sure it was september 5th.

I know, I know, locking to a wooden porch. In my defense (I guess, who cares, I know) this porch is in the back and around a corner of the building, not visible from the street or main alley, and up two flights of stairs, my landlord refuses to put in a bike rack and our basement "bike room" is unlocked. Also I've had (old) bikes locked there for over two and a half years, so the fact that the VERY DAY after that old bike became a shiny new bike makes me think it was someone in or connected to the building, or someone who has been regularly cruising the building.

Bike was locked to scaffolding outside of the West Town Public Library / West Town Senior Center, as the bike rack was obstructing usage of the bike racks on the sidewalk, leaving me no choice but to use the scaffolding.

Bike was locked to bike rack opposite another brompton in front of the art institute of Chicago.

Garage left open for approximately 1.5hrs from 7:45-9PM. Bike stolen was previously hanging in garage. Another bike had been taken down and left laying on ground of garage. We assumed they were unable to take it because bike lock prevented handle bars from moving.

We had two bikes on 3rd floor private deck facing alley for 1.5 months no issue. I returned from work today with deck gate open our other bike in the middle of deck while my vintage yellow trek beach cruiser is missing. We have construction workers around building along with dog and dog walker that visit our unit. Stole in broad day light.

This bike, along with another, were stolen out of our garage between 6pm 9/13/16 & 6:30 am 9/14/16 (door presumed to be left unlocked by neighbor who we share garage with, door was found wide open at 6:30am 9/14/16 & both bikes were gone from their rack...nothing else besides the bikes had been stolen.

I rode the bike Saturday morning, locked it in my storage unit in the apartment building's locked basement (inside locked alley gate). Came down Sunday morning to get it, and the padlock on my storage unit had been completely ripped off the frame.

Bike was locked using a ULock to a U-shaped bike rack attached to the side walk in the morning when I got to work. When I left work at 5:15 PM the lock was attached, but the bike was gone.
