Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked to City rack in front of a residence at 3451 N. Halsted Street. Bike lock was cut and disposed of.

Just after midnight, a burglar used a garbage bin to jump my fence. They then used a pry bar to open the access door to my garage. They stole my bike and left through the main garage door into the alley.

The Bike was left unlocked and unattended for less than 3 minutes during cross country practice at Mather High School in the Mather back parking lot. Around 4:45pm someone took the bike and a backpack with an iphone. They were left on the other side of a storage bin while the team was practicing just yards away. The bike belongs to the cross country coach. He was lending it to an injured runner to ride for the day.

This is a brand new bike; it was locked to a rail outside the Chinatown public library, but unfortunately someone managed to steal it, possibly around 4pm on October 15th. The bike had a black pannier attached, with a black helmet inside. I filed a police report, and of course it's not clear if we will end up finding it.

I was away for two weeks, then the day after I returned, I saw that the bike and lock were both gone. No traces. I had been locking it in that same spot for about a year, with frequent use.

I usually leave my bike in my backyard in Logan Square unlocked, foolishly. I last used it Sunday 10/11 around midnight, worked all day Monday and Tuesday, and checked on it early Wednesday 10/14 to find it gone.

Went to gym, 10 South clinton, there were other bikes on racks in area. came back out at 5:45 pm after being there about 1.25 hours and bike was gone. This city is a kick to the groin.

Bike was stored in a garage unlocked. Neighbor that shares the garage must have accidentally left the door open.

Bike was in an apartment building hallway. We are the only tenant in a 2 unit building and the bike was at the top of the steps, barely visible from the glass entry door. Someone apparently forced the door open overnight and took the bike with them.

The garage door was opened for an extended period during the night time and someone in the alley could have potentially stolen it in that duration of time.

Bike has been stored in the bike room at the ground level of my apartment building for two months. Last checked on my bike 10/8 PM and it was there with the lock in tact. On 10/10 early AM, the bike was gone and the lock was cut. I recently went out of town for a week, and suspect that whoever stole my bike had noticed that the bike had not moved for some time, and was planning on the right moment to steal it. There are cameras in the foyer of my building, and I have contacted my leasing office to hopefully get footage of the person who took my bike.

BIKE WAS REMOVED SOMETIME BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 22ND AND OCTOBER 9TH. NO EVIDENCE OF BROKEN ENTRY OR LOCK.

Time listed is when discovered. Bike was last seen evening of 10/4. Bike was locked to rack in interior courtyard outside 31-unit condo building, accessible through gate to alley. Gate should have been locked (requiring key to open), though I suspect was not. Cable was wrapped around bike rack, and connected to bike with a u-lock through its loops and around the bike frame. The cable loops were cut and the bike and U-lock missing.

I was going into Mariano's and came out to find it missing. 90% sure it was locked; but possible I spaced it this once.

Bike was locked to a metal pole in our storage area with a Kryptonite NEW YORK CHAIN 1210 (9/10 Security Rating) along with an On Guard U lock. Thief took the bike and the locks. Visible burn marks can be seen on the pole it was secured to and white dust/ shavings can be seen below where it was secured. Looks like the thief cut the locks with power tools. I contacted the seller, set up a meet and was able to recover my stolen bike.]

The bike was on the bike rack outside of UIC College of Dentistry.
