Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was in my personal garage that's locked/shut at all times. It was hanging on a bike rack against the garage with my husbands bike (which was also stolen). In the attached picture it's the bike on top. Husband's bike is on the bottom but we don't have the serial number/information for that one.

Bike was stolen from locked, detached garage on alley. Appears to be very targeted. There are many bikes left unlocked in my neighborhood, but someone was observant to know an expensive bike was in my garage and targeted it specifically. House is close to synagogue (active construction zone for 6 months) with dead end alley. Bike was built by hand and has important value to owner.

My bikes were locked together through the wheels and frame and rack that they were stored on. The thief broke into our garage; sawed through the rack; pulled the chain through the opening he made; and took both bikes that were also locked together. RECOVERED: on 7/7/2017 victim wrote: "This bike has been recovered thanks to your website.  J is my wife.  Someone found the bike at a flea market and was able to track her down from the serial number and return the bike to her. Thanks!"

Bike was kept under stairs in locked back lobby of small condo building along with other bikes and baby strollers. My bike was the only item stolen. No police report filed

Last saw the bike at Thursday 8pm locked to a wooden staircase at backyard of apartment, when I woke up in the morning on Friday, it was missing. The lock was cut open and left at the same place.

New to the city, I was riding home, and missed my turn and turned into the next major intersection that I recognized. I then pulled onto Lavergne to regroup and figure out my location. In what I can only presume to be a narcoleptic-like moment, I fell asleep while doing so, leaving my precious bike unlocked next to me. I came to nearly and hour later to find my bike missing and my ULOCK (which was tucked in the back of my pants before dozing off) on the sidewalk about 15 feet from me.

Sometime in May-July, someone somehow entered my apartment building, got into the bike room (you need a key) and took multiple bikes. Mine was one of those bikes.

Found the cut cable lock early Friday morning (8/19). Thief left the bike next to it alone (u-locked).

Locked outside Northwestern Prentice hopital on Chicago Ave.

While I slept a criminal trespassed my yard and stole the bike. From there he open the garage door and took of.

Bike was on the third floor of our back porch in a locked gate.

2 bikes were on the back porch of our third floor apartment building. Yard was locked.

Bike was put away in the shared garage around 5:45 - 6pm on 8/10 and when I returned at 10am on 8/11 the garage doors were open and the bike was gone.

The bike was stored in a locked garage. I rode it last on 8/10/16 and noticed it missing on 8/18/16.

Bike was inside back seat of my car, car was locked.

The bike was parked in the back yard which is enclosed by a locked fence. The only way to gain access to the yard is with a key or to hop the fence with a boost from a second person.

Hotel Camera was right over bike. Desk of hotel was facing the bike.

I store my bike in the basement of my apartment building which is locked, and there is a locked gate around our building. I came down tonight and saw my bike was missing. A neighbors bike which is kept right next to mine was also missing. My bike had a heavy-duty U-lock locking the back wheel to the frame so it is not possible that someone rode away on the bike. One of my neighbors was moving out today so I initially thought the movers grabbed the bikes by accident thinking they belonged to her but she is fairly certain they did not take the bikes. The basement where the bikes are stored is loaded with all kinds of tools and higher-priced items so it's hard to believe they were stolen - especially considering my bike was un-ridable and the other bike was covered in dust and the tires were completely flat. I plan on contacting my neighbor's moving company tomorrow morning.

Not much to say. Came out of work and the bike was gone along with the lock. Building says no cameras.
