Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

It was in the backyard of a friends house where a BBQ was taking place. There were about 15 people and everyone had their bike up against the was inside the fences. It was not locked because i felt safe in an enclosed area, but i was wrong!

I locked up the bike in an alley at the corner of Division and Hoyne. The alley was directly behind Letezia's Natural Cafe when it was taken.

The incident must of occurred sometime between 8am-5pm on September 5th. We have two locked gates on our property and they must have gotten in somehow and stolen it off the back patio area. It has been there safely for 2 years but my luck must have run out. I'm assuming the garbage pickers wandered in looking for anything to steal made of solid metal. This bike was not worth much in money but a lot in sentimental value to me. I loved it!

So me and My friends where playing basketball at Gross Park that is the place where my bike got stolen. So when me and my friends were doing playing my bike was just gone it was no were in sight. But what I heard this person goes to Mather High School and he hangs around Gross park to

Bike was parked outside of a gym, next to a variety of other bikes. Person must have cut the cable out and taken the bike along. There were plenty of other bikes parked at the spot wher mine was at.

I was biking to school and my front wheel flew off. I was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital. Once I regained consciousness I was told my bike was locked up. Upon arriving to North Avenue Beach 3 hours later I was informed by some local security who were there when I fell that my bike was taken by some lady Daisy who works for the Park District Security who said she'd keep my bike safe till I came back. The number she provided was bogus and after calling 10 different departments nobody knows a lady Daisy. I filed a police report, but I'm trying to not give up hope. [On 2/10/24, the victim contacted us to report that the bike had been returned. "I recovered the bike about 2-3 months after the incident. It ended up actually being taken by a city worker and I managed to track her down, she thought I was dead after not hearing from me for months lol. Turns out the number that was left in my wallet was correct, but the line was down when I had first attempted contact. Once I finally reached her, we met up near the LP zoo and I got the bike back! It was locked up in a park district storage facility near there.  Keep up the good fight of helping folks track and recover!"]

I locked my bike for the night in front of 2301 N Commonwealth (near clark and belden) to a street sign with three signs at the top. Unable to take the sign out of the ground, the thieves clearly unscrewed the signs at the top (which were gone in the morning) and lifted the bike, lock and all, over the top of the remaining pole.

I was coming in and out of the garage as I was doing some carpentry work in the house while cutting wood in the garage. the door to the alley was always closed. I had unlocked the bike to move it out of the way, but did not re-lock it. walked in to the house, left the garage door to the yard unlocked, returned 5 minutes later to find the garage door to the alley open with the bike gone. still beating myself up.

Bike was last seen around noon on 9/5.

Bike was last seen in front of house, locked up, around noon on Thurs Sept 5th. Theif would have had to enter gate to remove bike or haul bike over fence (approx 6 feet tall).

Left for work, when i returned it was gone from my 3rd floor porch.

I had gone to the Lincoln Park Zoo, and locked my bike to a street sign on the sidewalk right outside the main entrance, near the bus stop and the large, flowered lawn. I arrived at the zoo at approx. 12:15 pm, and stayed there until approx. 3:30 pm. After returning to where my bike was locked up, neither the bike nor the lock was there. I had my bike locked up with my girlfriend's bike. Both bikes and both locks were stolen. I am only reporting my bike, because I have more information about it.

Left bike locked to rack in front of Murray Language Academy last night at 8:00 PM, with CycleTote trailer hitched to seatpost. Came back this morning to find only the trailer; the lock was on the ground a short distance away and cleanly cut. (Mini-U-lock and heavy chain; the lock was cut, not the chain.)

Left my bike outside while unloading groceries and forgot to bring it in.

I was going to work this morning and my bike was taken from my gated courtyard. it was not locked

Garage not visible from street, but facing alley. Garage door open during cleaning. Left garage for back yard for five minutes. Bikes stolen in the time that I was in the back yard.

Not sure what happened to my bike; I only moved into this apartment 2 days ago and haven't even had a chance to ride this new bike in the city. I was actually going downstairs to put my new U-Lock on the bike when it was already gone.

I locked the bike alongside other tenants' bikes on the front gate of our building at night. Went outside to ride my bike the next morning and it was gone, along with the loke.

Im thinking that the lock was cut because it was crappy, which is my fault.
