Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was in the basement not sure how they got in.

I live in a residential building with 16 units sharing a heated garage space that only the parking residents have access to. The door is on a timer and closes after each vehicle. Another neighbor also reported their bike being stolen after only living there one month. An Indian restaurant beside my building was also burglarized on the same day.

Window smashed and bike was stole out of my apartment.

Went to pick up my bike and it was gone.

My bike was U-locked outside my apartment overnight as was moving and the neighbors knew we were in our new place. The thief disassembled the fence it was on and slipped it off.

The bike was inside my apartment building for many months. I believe one of neighbors buzzed someone in who took the bike.

I usually place my bike in front of apartment front door underneath the stoop of the apartment building, then enter the apartment through the side door and bring bike through the front and lock in the walkway. This day I forgot to bring the bike in after placing it under the stoop (about 9am). When I came out around 6pm to retrieve the bike it was gone.

I don't know the time. I locked it last night and haven't paid attention to rack since. Ran out for bus this morning and did not pay attention to rack, so not sure if it was stolen overnight (locked at around 7pm 3/8/13) or today. Kryptonite lock, sawed through and left on ground. (Also had cable to tether front wheel to lock, but lock was through rear wheel and frame to rack). Was at bus stop, in front of three restaurants and an acting studio, so guessing thief/thieves knew what they were doing.

Bike was inside our garage and had only been in the garage for 4 days.

Bike was locked up in my building (2340 N Commonwealth) and attached to a cable on a wall frame. Someone (maybe another tenant) cut the cable and walked off with the bike. Bike was behind 3 locked doors and inside a locked bike cage. No pictures of the bike as I only owned it for 6 days before it was stolen. Occurred sometime between 2/28/13 6:30pm and 3/1/13 6pm, but most likely during the day on 3/1/13 as crime in and around our building tends to happen on Friday afternoons.

Bike stolen from garage

Bike was in our garage. The overhead door didn't close properly when we left, so the garage was wide open to the alley for several hours (5:15pm-10:30pm). Someone walked in and took it. Nothing else was stolen; the bike was the most valuable item in the garage. A neighbor saw the garage open and tried to warn us around 10pm, but he doesn't recall whether the bike was in the garage at the time.

Bike was locked to "No Parking" sign in front of 3409 W Fullerton with a ulock and rear wheel was locked to frame with a separate ulock. No parking sign was uprooted from the street and the bike was taken.

Bike has been in my storage unit of condo building for six years. It has been locked on and off as I was using it, but has been unlocked since the summer time when I have ridden it last. It was removed from behind my other two bikes to which it had been locked to prior last summer. The door to the storage area has not been tampered with. I am assuming that someone who took it has the key to the unit.

My bike is parked in my house garage, I am the only one in and out. They broke into my home and carried the bike out the front door.

The bike was stolen overnight. I biked to my girlfriend's house, arriving at 12:45am, (the night of February 18th/morning of February 19th 2013); locked my bike to the stop sign off the corner of W Barry & N Pine Grove Ave, where I have been parking it almost daily without any problems for over two months now. When I left the house to head to work at 8:10am, the stop sign was lying on the ground, with a foot-deep hole in the ground surrounding the pole's base - the bike, the U-Lock, and the Kryptoflex cable were all gone. I can only assume the stop sign pole was removed from the ground, allowing for the still-locked bike to be loaded into a vehicle and transported somewhere that the lock & cable could be cut off slowly.

Somebody in my building left the back door unlocked. There was a sign on door at the bottom of the stairs that said, "PLEASE KEEP DOOR LOCKED AT ALL TIMES". When I noticed my bike was gone, the sign was also ripped off the door.

Bike was stolen while i was working. Right in front of Luke's Beef on Jackson downtown Chicago. Other bikes have been stolen from that location as well I learned, even from Luke's employees. Just bought the bike and dialed it in in January. Just lost my Job last summer as Peregrine went chapter 7, so any help locating it would really be appreciated!

Bike was taken between 4:15 and 11 pm from Hasted Orange Line station on Archer.
