Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My bike was in my garage. Both entrances to the garage are locked. When I returned to my garage the bike was gone.

Two bikes stolen together from Navy Pier across from the main entrance. Security allowed me to view the security tapes along with CPD. In plain site, white male sitting in the grass watched me lock the bikes up and a while female walked up cut the lock and walked around for about 10 minutes. The white male stood up and walked off with one bike, while the white female immediately followed. All caught on tape. Looks to be a regular operation. I will be returning to the area on and off over the next few weeks and watch to see if this happens again. I just bought the two bikes 2 weeks ago.

Bike was locked securely (new U-Lock) to a bike rack under the Metra tracks at the 59th street station on Friday 8/3/12, around 7:30pm. Two days later, on Sunday 8/5/12 at 6:30pm, the bike, along with the U-Lock, is gone. There are a few scratches on the bike rack, but I'm not sure if that's relevant.

I locked my bike to a parking sign post, and only discovered when I came back that the sign was only stuck in a hole in the ground, no cement or other mounting. I assume the pole was slipped though the lock and then put back where it was. In short, I got duped.

Bike was stolen from locked garage where it was hanging on wall. Although it was locked, it was a flimsy lock and only locked to itself.

Someone walked up into our back porch which is not visible from the alleyway and stole the bike. There was another bike there which was not taken.

First time riding bikes in the city, told my girlfriend on the ride I need to go buy U locks later in the afternoon. We rode to North Ave Beach and tied bikes up at a heavily used bike rack and highly populated area. We both had a cable lock so I put one through our front tires and around the rack and the other through the frames and the rack. We walked 50 yards away and laid on the beach for an hour and a half. Came back and the remains of one of the bike locks was there. Pissed...

My bike was parked at the Brain research entrance of the University of Chicago Medical Center, with a master lock chain lock going through the front tire and connected to the seat. The lock must have been cut, and the bike was stolen from that location between when I parked it there at 0700 and when I came out to go home at around 8pm. It basically was a stock bike... no other upgrades or distinguishing features. Can't find where I wrote down the serial number. There aren't many bikes like this one...

A girl supposedly named "WHitney" came to look at the bike. Then she just hopped on it and yelled that it was her bike and took off. If you ever get an e-mail from [email protected] know she's a bike thief!!!!!!!!!!!

Bike was locked to a pole outside our apartment, we lock it up regularly outside. We just came upstairs one day for a few hours and came down and the bike was missing. I really hate thieves, but i guess I learned to never lock it up outside again.

The bike was locked up when I was at work, after work I went outside and found the lock cut, the bike gone. If you have any information, please let me know and thanks in advance.

I accidentally left my garage door open for about an hour and a half. Either someone has been watching and knows where I keep my bike or just happened upon it and snatched it from the garage and took off quickly.

Went to retrieve bike from bike storage room in apartment building I live in and it was gone.

Some dedicated ass clown took apart the chain link fence where my bike was locked outside my door (newer u-lock w/flat key). It's a large silver Jamis Citizen with disk brakes.

left my bike on my 2nd story porch in a somewhat hidden from plain view area, blocked in by my roommate's locked bike. i checked on it a couple of times throughout the day. at about 430-5pm my neighbor said she saw a female 20 something year old, curly dark hair, and darker complexion with the bike outside her house, downstairs. at 9pm i was leaving my house and my bike was gone. my roommate's bike was still locked in one place. filed a police report. the bike has a heavy duty chain lock wrapped around the base of the seat. i'm the only one who has the keys.

Bike was stolen from a locked, intrusion protected fence, with nothing to lock my bike to inside the gate, strong possibility gate was left open but nobody's speaking up. Happened on Damen and Potomac, pretty close to Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village. Somewhere between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Real shame.

Some ass clown broke into our garage and stole my bike! I miss it already. Let me know if you see it around, and feel free to use deadly force. Someone broke into our garage at our house and stole my bike, as well my wife's bike. There wasn't really anything else stolen but they did also steal my U-Lock as well (no key?!) The bike has a few dents in the top tube and lower. The bike disappeared somewhere between last night and 1:00 PM today.

My bike was stolen from the 5th floor of our parking garage sometime after midnight on today, August 2. It was secured to a pillar adjacent to my parking space by a cable and key lock. The back wheel was further secured to the bike frame by a steel u-lock. I believe the bike was stolen by someone with access to our garage who was able to enter perhaps in a large van. He cut the cable by which the bike was secured, and perhaps physically carried the bike to the enclosed van, thereafter most likely driving out of our garage undetected.
