Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I used to keep the bike locked in the lobby of my apartment. The building I live in is a three flat, along with the landlord and his family in the other units. His daughter saw the bike around 2:00AM on the morning of Saturday 9/25. I was the first to discover it missing around 9:00 AM that same day. The glass on the door had been broken, and the bike was taken, while it was still locked to itself. The bike had heavy duty wheel locks and a heavy duty U-lock connecting the wheel to the frame. Whoever took the bike either knew it was there ahead of time or came into our yard and up to the front door to find it. My landlord also said he heard the gate open around 4:30 in the morning that day.

I honestly have no idea how they stole my bike. It was locked, both wheels, with a u and cable to the metal fence. There appears to be no damage to the fence. In my opinion, it was professionally done

Bike had been locked to a fence outside my apartment. I noticed it missing and the only the cut lock remaining on the morning of Monday 9/27. I suspect it could have been stolen any time over the weekend.

My bike was stolen from outside the DanceSpa at 1890 N. Milwaukee. I was in a 1 hour Zumba class and the bike disappeared some time within that hour. It was locked with a cable combination lock through the front tire and frame to the bike rack just South of the building. The bike has a black basket in the front, a bell on the left handlebar, and a rack on the back. I assume that the lock was cut and the bike was taken, along with the lock.

Left biked locked up to catch the 6:30am train, arrived at 6:30pm and bike was gone.

Someone broke into the private garage in the back of my building with a cro-bar and stole two bikes which were stored, hanging from the sealing

I think someone saw an opportunity to steal this saddle (and the seat-post it was attached to), and used an Allen wrench to unbolt the seat-post and walk off with it and and saddle. This was during daylight, with plenty of street traffic around on the sidewalk around the nearby stores. As I walked toward the bus stop, heading South on Milwaukee to Western, I noticed that the caribbeaner that I had some sunblock and chap-stick on, and which had been attached to my saddle, had been hooked to a chain-link fence across from the Walgreens at Armitage. There was no sign of the saddle toolbag, however. No other bike parts were affected, including a non-quick release (but not cable-locked) front wheel with generator hub, nor rear quick-release wheel, nor beautiful floral-patterned panniers that were hooked to the rack, nor my tail-light, which is attached only by a tied-up old innertube knot.

The unlocked bike was stolen from the back of the garage, no sign of forced entry. Garage was malfunctioning for an unspecified amount of time and was fixed on the 9th of September, landlord did not inform tenet of malfunctions until the bike was missing. Unique bike that was probably stolen by someone passing by when the garage door was not working. Needed air in the tires.

I leave my bike in the front hall. There are only 4 couples who live in the building one of whom is the landlord. We know all tenants and are all very reputable. I leave my bike there all the time. Someone would have to have already been in the building to see it. The left my lock which was strapped on m handle bars. Had to have had time remove and set lock down.

Garage broken into overnight. Thieves took bike after cutting the braided cable lock, they also took a couple of other items from the garage and cycled off down the alley!

I locked my bike to the rack so well and tight, after few hours i came out of my friend's store, my bike just gone. Please please help me to find my bike, if the police caught the thief, please contact me, thank you so much!!

Bike was locked to a street light through both wheels and frame with a cable w/ integrated key lock for 30 minutes on West Belmont Ave at 4:00 pm. When returned to bike 30 minutes, later bike was gone with cable lock cut and left at the scene of the theft.

My friend who had it over the summer left it locked outside his apartment building for me to come pick it up. Came by on Friday at 6pm but he wasn't there to unlock it. When I came back on Sunday at 9pm it was gone and the cut lock was lying where it had been.

Bike was stolen from side of house after about 8 pm

Locked overnight for the first time because I couldn't ride all the way back. Thought it would be safe for a few hours. So sad as it was an older bike given as a gift. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Like this pic but with described features.

Stolen from backyard which is surrounded by huge privacy fence that you can't see through. Happenned between 12:30 AM and 9 AM 25th of September.

My bike was stolen between 6:30 and 9:30 pm on Friday September 24th from the parking garage at Saint Joseph Hospital. It was locked to a bike rack with a a Kryptonite U lock and a cable secured the front wheel. Both lock and cable were taken with the bike.

My bike was locked in front of the CTA station on Wellington and left overnight since I took the bus home from a different location and didn't have time to get it until the next day.

The bike was stolen at my dorm, Public Affaires Residential College(That's the name), at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I locked it for almost three hours at the bike rack with a cable lock that has an integrated key lock that uses a flat key to open. I wrapped it twice around the wheel and then the frame and when I went to use it for class it was gone. i only leave it outside between classes otherwise it is in my dorm.
