Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I was working on my bike in the front of my house behind a 7ft tall locked fence I went inside for15min looking for a tool. In that time someone jumped two locked fences to grab it at 7pm.

I locked my bike to the rack outside the east entrance to Regenstein Library on the University of Chicago campus at 8am. It was gone when I left work at 4pm

I store unlocked bike under the porch stairs in my locked fenced in yard. Around 3:30pm I saw an older black man in a long sleeve black shirt with a grey backpack riding my aqua retrospec bike in front of my house on s. Greenwood ave. I immediately recognized my bike because it is girly and has a distinct black basket- and I hollered after him "What the fuck, I can see you!" I did not see how he broke into the yard, but heard the gate clang as he left. I ran out and saw all of my belongings from the basket scattered in my yard. He turned left onto 65th st and turned south down the alleyway between Ellis and S Greenwood. I used a divvy to try and catch up and find my bike, thinking he would throw it because I saw him steal it, and also it is notorious for popped tires and riding down the alley would be risky with how flat the tires are right now. By the time I followed him, I lost him. A mail lady may have seen turn down 68th street. I uploaded a picture from when it was new. It no longer has a yellow basket or like-new shine. I am on a new set of handlebar grips which have ripped on the end and slide towards the center. Its a little rustier looking, and says retrospec in white on the base. It has a wide brown cruiser seat seat which has a water stain, and doesnt move up and down, which is why he looked a goddamn fool and caught my eye trying to ride it. Please help find it, I am a poor grad student!

On 11/16/23, the victim reported that the bike had been recovered: "Yes, actually [the CSBR] played a pivotal role. The way I found my bike was a guy saw the listing on OfferUp 3 weeks later, and he got suspicious that the price was so low. So he searched the registry and saw my entry and then texted me, I then confirmed it was mine. I set up a meeting to "buy" the bike with the thief and brought the police and got it back quickly. Thank you guys for the service!" [I store my bike in my house's closed garage. The thief hopped my yard fence and entered garage yard door in rear of garage, that door was unlocked. Bike was not locked to anything inside my garage.]

BIKE STOLEN INSIDE GARAGE

Went to use the bike to go to the store. When I got to the basement, bike was gone

My partner and I locked our E-bikes to a bike rack outside of Sushi Para. We went in and came out about 40 minutes later to our bike lock cut on the ground and the bikes were missing. We asked sushi para about security cameras outside and they said they didn’t have any. My bike is the orange one that I uploaded and my partners is just like mine but it is white instead of orange

Bike was locked to back porch on Thomas St, near Ashland and Division. Thief removed a piece of the wooden railing the bike was locked to and took the bike along with the lock.

Bike was used around 1pm on 10/16. Bike was improperly locked inside a gated garage. The bike was not there in the morning.

The perpetrator took the bike from our garage and left through the alleyway to which the garage was connected. The bike was hanging on our bike rack in the garage.

Hi lost my bike at south Pulaski station orange line I drop my bike around 3:59am and try pick up my bike around 1:10pm and my bike was not there and the bike rack and it was bye the camera it was a white bike that is electric and it a e Joe bike the bike cost 1600 dollars

They took my bike as well as my helmet. It was charging as well.

Bike was left unlocked for 20 minutes. It was stolen when I came back to pick it up.

Bike was locked to pipe with cable and had additional U lock on front wheel. Cable was cut and bike was taken with U lock.

We came back from our soccer game we were at Nile west high school at door 24 near the football field

The lock has been left back in place as it is hanging on the rack. Just the bike missing.

Unsure exactly when it was taken. Back gate was left open by new neighbors moving into the building. Bike disappeared sometime between 2pm Tuesday & 9 am Wednesday.
