Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

my bike was locked to the bike rack at the west entrance of the Chicago Field Museum while I was at work. I arrived around nine and when I left at 545 my bike was gone.

I live in a walk-up and in our backyard we have a door that is unlocked normally. It leads to the rest of the stairs and porches. There are five bikes in the basement area that is down the stairs and to the right of this entrance. I used my bike yesterday morning and locked the back wheel and frame with my u-lock. I came up the stairs and looked at the bikes, noticing mine was gone. There are four still there but mine is missing.

Bike was locked to a fence in our apartment parking (4827 N Sheridan Rd). Bike was last checked on at 12:00AM August 19th. I went to check on the bike at 5:00AM on August 20th and the bike along with the ULOCK was missing. The fence had been cut. I have my reciepts of purchase.

I had a ABUS Bordo Ecoution 6000 Black Folding Lock 90cm around the bike front wheel and frame attached to a metal fence outside my apartment at 833 W Buena st. (Irving and Broadway area). Many other bikes were locked to the metal fence. I last saw the bike coming home at 12am on 8/20 and it was gone when I went out to ride it at 1130am on 8/20. The fence had been sawed or sliced in some way and the bike and lock were completely removed. No other bikes were stolen. I had stored the bike there for 3 days and purchased it a few days before that. It was never used and in perfect condition. The only distinguishing characteristics are three art stickers I placed on the bike when I bought it of R.Blume abstract art. The lock may be difficult for them to remove and they may sell the bike in parts.

The bike was stolen before 10:00am on Sunday, but after Saturday afternoon. The bike was located inside my back porch which was enclosed.

Got distracted when I arrived at work and forgot to go back to lock my bike.

Last seen at about 8 or 9pm the night before. Woke up to find bike missing.

Bike was parked inside a roped off area at the Chicago Full Moon Jam just south of Foster Ave by the lakefront. Bike flipped upside down, along with several other bikes, within the roped off area, right next to expensive performance gear. Gear not taken, just bike. Bike was in place at 10:15pm. Organizers began taking down rope barriers for area and bike was gone by 10:30. Another bike, parked right next to mine (black, thin frame) was left in place and not claimed by anyone by the time all organizers were ready to leave & park nearly empty. It's possible the owner of the black bike took mine by mistake, but also likely owner of black bike just forgot about it. Black bike i being held by event organizers.

Bike was locked to bike carrier in a crowded open air parking lot near end of Wright ride this Sunday. Left bike for approximately one hour, when I returned the bike lock cable was cut and bike was gone. I immediately filed a report with Oak Park police.

2 bikes stolen from the garage- garage door may or may not have been open. Neighbors saw garage open. found closed when we arrived. Neighbors saw 2 caucasion males with long blond pony tails ride off on them.

The bike was locked to a street sign next to Reza's restaurant. It was there for about a week, but I checked on it every day since I live across the street. I saw it there yesterday afternoon. The lock was cut and left at the scene with the helmet.

bike was stored in garage. Garage may or may not have been open. Bikes were stolen from the garage around noon. Neighbors saw 2 caucasion males with long blond pony tails. 2 bikes were stolen from the garage.

Bike was locked to my back porch, which is in an enclosed locked area. Someone from the complex either cut the lock and stole it or someone climbed fence and took it. Bike was stolen without seat.

I locked my bike up to a fence at work, went on my lunch break at three, walked outside and it was gone. Thief left the bicycle he was riding prior to stealing my bike unlocked and at the same location I had locked my bike.

I was tanning at the lincoln beach my bike was probably stolen when i was swiming

Bike was in garage, strung up on ceiling rack not visible from alley. Theoretically garage door was locked, gate to backyard was locked, entry door to garage was locked. I saw "theoretically" because garage is shared with neighbors so it is possible they were negligent in locking up if they left later in the day.

Neighbor in apartment complex possibly left large locking gate open, and someone walked past gate, down enclosed ally and under stairwell where bike was hidden.
