Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike taken off the 2nd floor of an enclosed back porch . Was chained to another bike: a black Raleigh 4.5 and both were u locked to a radiator with a heavy duty steel cable.

The bike was in a garage and was placed there after Memorial Day. It was taken sometime between then and 6/6.

I left my bike locked to a bike rack while at work. I ride it almost every day and tend to leave it at this rack. When I went out for lunch I realized the bike was gone and the only thing on the floor was a piece of velcro from the handlebars. The bike is a good condition trek 4500. older model (2008 I think) but still a nice bike.

Bike was unlocked on a rooftop, i walked away from it came back and it was gone

Bike was parked on Broadway in front of Crew Bar and locked to light pole along with another bike. When I came out about 2 hrs later, the lock was cut and left and the other bike was there as well.

Yellow and Blue Trek 3900 mountain bike with cable combination lock was stolen in front of GAP on Broadway in lakeview.

Bike locked to a Cannondale M400 mountain bike with 2 older round key ulocks. Bikes last seen in AM around 9:15 when I unlocked my daughter's bike from them. Noted missing from garage around 4:45 pm same day. Two other bikes had been stolen from this location. Bikes would have to been carried out together and could not be rolled out. Carried away or loaded into a truck????? Suspect the space was watched. Garage is used by 6 tenants and not everyone is good with putting down the door all the way. Neighbors often note the door is left open.

Two bikes locked together (each to the other) in a private garage which opens to an alley. Bikes (Cannondale M400 and an Orange Lotus touring bike) were locked with two old style U locks with round keys,but not locked to any structure. I saw the bikes around 9:15 AM when I unlocked my daughters bike from them and she rode her bikes to school. Bikes noted missing around 4:45 same day when I went to store/lock daughter's bike after school. Garage door on the back of the building often gets left up by other tenants. Alley is just off Chicago and Damen and is frequented by many pickers. Two other bikes stolen from the same space. Suspect the space had been scouted. Bikes had to have been taken together - would not roll the way they were locked together.

First bike in the city, the bike shop didn't have U-Lock's so I bought the next best... run a restaurant and didn't have time to get a better lock until my next day off.. Bike didn't last until my next day off. If you see it, please help me get it back.

Left bicycle chained up on back porch at 230 pm on June 5th 2012 and bike was gone by 9:30 pm same day.

My u-lock was (stupidly) locked through the front tire into a metal window grate. The thief removed the front tire and took the bike.

Bike was not locked and was stolen from garage.

Bike was taken from rack outside office. Left lock. Rack was shielded from street view at time by mobile blood donation coach, which likely made theft easier. Other bikes around left untouched. Bike was likely chosen because locked only to frame.

Bike was next to back door in locked enclosed side path. Owner was home at the time. Gate lock was broken.

Stolen while Locked up overnight to a pole (newer u-lock w/flat key) Was pushed up over the pole so lock is still on frame

I didn't notice it was missing at 8:45pm. I went to ride it this morning at 7:45am and the fence was cut. The bike was attached via U-Lock.

I was inside at a trivia night for about 2.5 hrs. My bike was locked about 15 feet from door of Cortland's Garage, right next to the outdoor seating area where several groups were seated - I was inside, dang it. My guess is the thief nicked it pretty quick and discretely with some cable cutters as no one outside seemed to notice. Hopefully the camera outside has some decent footage.

Whoever stole this bike ripped the entire tow zone sign it was locked to out of the ground. And took the bike elsewhere to cut the lock.

I tied my bike up on the bike racks right in front of the Zoo on the bike racks in place for visitors. The cable was tied around the bike frame, front-wheel and stationary bike rack as well as though my son's smaller bike (which was not stolen). After visiting the zoo for 45 minutes, we came back to find that the bike was stolen, the cable left and my sons bike left there.

The bike was locked up with approximately 25 other bikes, very busy street. The Sausagefest was going on on Sheffield by Wrigley. A lot of pedestrian traffic.
