This is a 6 speed Brompton with a 3 speed shifter on the right and a plus/minus shifter on the left, a Brompton bell and a rear rack. There are several distinctive components that would help identify the bike. It is fitted with a Planet Bike 5021 Women's ARS Standard Anatomic Relief Saddle with Gel. It has a Kryptonite H-bar Transit U-lock carrier on the handlebars. It has a Cat Eye light bracket on the front but no light. (The picture shows a dynamo setup which is no longer on the bike). It has Ergon GP1 cork grips. This bike and my husband's bike (see separate report), which is the same brand but a different color (dark green) were locked together to a bike rack using a Kryptonite U-lock outside Breakthrough Familyplex at Carroll and Kedzie. According to the staff at Breakthrough there is CCTV footage but they will only release it to the Police. Unfortunately the business was closed and so it is possible someone ground the lock with a grinder without being seen.

This is a fairly standard Brompton with a 3 speed hub and a rear rack. The paintwork is pretty scratched up. It has a Kryptonite U-lock holder attached to the seat post just under the seat. It is fitted with distinctive pedals: MKS ALLWAYS Ezy Superiors. There is a front bracket for a lamp but no lamp attached. It has wiring for dynamo lights but the lights aren't set up. There is some blue tape around the wiring attaching it to the front lighting bracket.

My bike, along with another, was locked to the bike rack in front of Quesadilla la reina del sur restaurant - 2235 N Western Ave. It was locked (poorly) with a U-lock and cable. U-lock was attached to my girlfriends bike, so that they were able to cut the cable and take my bike. The thief left a bike in my bike's place, I'd guess as a decoy. We were in the restaurant for maybe 1.5 hours at most, and it happened while we were eating. If the bike that was left is yours - get in touch. It's a Bianchi Avenue.

The courtyard in my apartment building opens up to a private alley and my bike was hidden and locked in the enclosed courtyard. It was not visible to casual passerbys and there were also 3 other bikes locked in the same courtyard in the exact same manner. I can only imagine that the $900 value of the bike is why mine was the only one stolen. It was stolen sometime between 11:00pm on September 12th and 7:00am on September 13th.
