Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Went into my garage and noticed my bike was missing. Best guess was that either the garage door was left open and someone noticed my bike in the back of the garage which wasn't locked or some jimmied the door into the garage because the latch doesn't always catch on the lock and the thief was able to pull the door open without causing physical damage.

I locked the bike up on Thursday (7/18) evening at 6:00pm and it was gone when I got back on Sunday (7/21) at 6:30pm

Bike was moved to porch of garden unit apartment enclosed in a gated parking lot for cleaning. Was accidentally left out while we were out for the night. Stolen somewhere between 8:30pm-1:30am Saturday night (. Only way to get in to the gated parking lot is by being let in or climbing up a 7-8 foot fence located in an alleyway. Porch not visible from the street.

Bike was on patio behind fence with locked gates. I believe it was inside job, neighbor.

I locked the bike at 10:30pm and found it gone at 11:30am.

Bike stolen from in front of Kozy'a cyclery on Erie in River North

Bike was stolen from in front of G & N Food And Liquor 5575 W Van Buren St, Chicago, IL 60644 while shopping in store.

In front of McDonalds, african american claims the bicycle belong to him and it was stolen from him. Forcibly remove the bicycle from me and rode off. W Ontario Ave and N Clark St

Bike was locked to a rack behind 350 N LaSalle (corner of Lasalle/Kinzie, right next to Old Crow Smokehouse.) I left it overnight due to the rain. It was there at 6:45 pm and gone by 3:30 pm the next day.

I locked my bike up around 12:30 am that day. I went to go check on my bike that afternoon and it was gone.

Assailant jumped backyard fence via neighbor's open garage, came through door entrance into garage, opened the garage door, took the bike off the rack and rode away.

Came down at 9am on Fri July 5th to an open garage and missing bike. It is unclear whether we accidentally left the door open ourselves or whether the door misfunctioned or whether the thief broke in. This is a 2-car residential garage directly on busy Montrose Ave.

My bike was stolen out of our 3 flat apartment bldg which we rent and just moved into Dec 2019. We know another tenant left the back door of our bldg not completely shut as there was no forced entry. Bike was on our enclosed porch on the 3rd floor. Our Kitchen door was locked and this opens onto the enclosed porch. Went to bed at 11pm on 14 July 2019- woke up at 5:30am 15 July 2019 to discover that the bike was gone. There is a sea of opportunists in our neighborhood trying every which way to find a compromised access into anyone's residence, single or shared. Of the 3 floors (3 units only, so not a large bldg) after entering the thieves came up all three floors looking for easily accessible and expensive items; my bike was the best item of all three floors. Aftermath is i saw the backyard gate wide open (it does not have a lock and is a chain link, so anyone can see into the yard.) with a neighbor tenant's items strewn against the back of our bldg. We could only surmise the door was left ajar either fully or minimally, as i have found previously to be our neighbor tenant's unfortunate habit.

I assume my cable was cut during the night when I left my bike locked up behind my apartment. I locked it at around 9 pm and it was gone at 10:30 am

The bikes are on the porch and are attached to the railing of the porch. The porch is on the second floor of the apartment complex. The porch contained multiple bikes (3). Only one was stolen.

Locked for 4 hours. on randolph street at the northern extrace to maggie daley park. none of lock left behind. was next to many other cycles.
