Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked along with helmet at the Harlem CTA Blue Line station (near Ohare). The bike was locked on the 'train' side of the turn stiles (i.e. after paying for ride) on the most easterly slot of the the most easterly bike lock station. This was in plain site of CTA help station and security cameras. The bike was locked up carefully (frame and both wheels to post) with an ON GUARD DOBERMAN COIL CABLE KEY LOCK 12MM Brand Cable Coil Key Lock (or very similar circa 2007). The helmet was a brand new White/Grey "Giro Foray MIPS" Mens Large Helmet. The bike was locked up at 7:45 AM on 6/22/17 and was missing on return commute home at 5:45 PM. CTA staff were interviewed and noticed nothing unusual.

We are an educational bike shop. This bike was stolen during one of our busy Open Shop times. We will be increasing security.

I park in the same place every morning in front of my gym. I assume someone noticed my bike there at the same time then came by with some power tools to quickly and cleanly cut through my ulock.

Locked bike at Clybourn metra station bike racks and did not come to retrieve until following day, whereupon came back to find no trace of bike or lock. Lock was a flexible chain and a separate metal lock that locked the two pieces together. Bike was locked to street sign at Wabash and Monroe. White male app. 6'0" 240 lbs. wearing red t-shirt, black adidas shorts with red stripes, red shoes. Lifted street sign out of the ground and took the bike toward Adams/Wabash train station in the loop.

I arrived at 219 W Chicago to go to Hardpressed Gym at 7:15am and locked my bike up right outside the building on the sidewalk. I returned at around 8:21 to find that my bike and lock were gone. I inquired abut cameras at both the gym and the Medspa next door, but they were unsure.

Bike was in our outdoor area of our apartment. We live on the second floor and the first floor door to our home is always locked. Perpetrator climbed our emergency landing and broke in through an open window. Took the bike (which was not locked to anything within the residence) and left out the first floor door. Helmet was found halfway down the stairs in the morning. Bike included a kryptonite U-lock. Total value of $500. We believe that we know who took the bike - there is a video circulating on Facebook in the Pilsen community group of an older african american man who was first seen wearing a blue t-shirt. As I walked out to see if the bike was around, I saw a similar appearing man wearing dark pants, a grey hoodie, and a black baseball cap wondering around the Cullerton street alley around 8:15 am. I did not approach him.

Drove up from Bloomington with 2 borrowed bikes, parked the car, and rode bikes to the Museum of Science and Industry. Locked both bikes to each other and the rack on the northeast rack in front of the museum. My bike and the lock were gone, my wife's bike was laying unlocked on the ground. Bike was set up for a 6 foot 2 male; likely stolen by someone of similar height.

Bike was locked at night in back yard of apartment building. At some point between Sunday night and Monday evening the bike chain was presumably cut and taken along with the bike for disposal. I am uncertain how lock or chain was broken as it was not found anywhere near the bikes location. Bike has clipless pedals and obvious signs of wear on tear near chain.

My bike was locked to the bike racks outside 633 S Plymouth Ct. Between 1:43am and 1:52am on June 20, both the bike and lock were taken. There is a gap in the security footage, during which the bike and lock disappear.

Left bike in front of Beatrix while I grabbed pick up. Stupidly did not lock it, but sidewalk was closed during construction so I thought I would be ok. Watched bike while inside, looked down at some point and it was gone.

Bike stolen from storage room in the basement. Locked to bike rack. Tires dismounted.

Locked bike when going into One Mag Mile for work at 8:30. It was gone when I went to pick it up after work around 5:00PM

Bike was taken from the bike storage area at my work, inside a locked building. Sometime between 9 and 5. It was missing when I went to get it to go home.

Getting a drink at The Drop on Lincoln Avenue after working late night shift. No bike rack in front of business so lock to a street pole around the corner on Wisconsin Avenue.

Saw my bike yesterday. Walked my dog after getting home from work today and saw it was gone. Not sure if it was there this morning.

Stolen between 9 am and 4 pm. Lock was cut cleanly

Somebody smashed the window to my locked 2011 white Mitsubishi Lancer and took my bike out of the back seat.
