The trailer is the biggest loss, made of aluminum tubing; it has a flat platform base (no storage box as pictured); and it has metal spoke tires, not the plastic ones shown in one of the pics. There were also a few bungee cords attached. This is a work bike.

Incident Description: 
Just got home with some landscaping cargo. Emptied it and went inside for a few minutes with bike and trailer at curb in front of my home. Not my smartest move :( Five minutes later the bike was gone; I have evidence (discarded stuff from my milk crate carrier) that the thief went southbound (from Foster) down the alley that runs along Monticello and Central Park Ave. The bike and trailer and very distinctive-looking together, but the thief could easily detach the crate and trailer. I've never seen another one of these WIKE brand cargo trailers anywhere.

I was using a Trek/Kryptonite lock. The bike was purchased at World of Bikes in Iowa City, IA, and has a sticker with the shop's name near the front derailleur.

I had an appointment on Tuesday, April 22 at 155 N. Wacker, but was late. So by 12:25p I had ridden downtown and locked my bike up. Because I was late, I wasn't paying full attention to where I locked it, but I'm 90% sure it was either outside of 7-11 on the corner of Franklin and Lake, or outside of CVS on the corner of Wells and Washington. When I went looking for it at about 3:45p, it was nowhere to be found. I proceeded to spend the next three hours systematically searching every nearby block corner for it, but did not succeed in finding it. Perhaps by some lapse of cognition I passed it by, but I believe I was thorough, especially when returning with my car.

I was arriving back from a doctors appointment, pulled into garage and closed the garage before I had exited car. When I came back an hour later to leave the garage door was wide open and our two bikes were stolen. I imagine they either jumped in the garage as I closed the garage door or I out of habit pressed the garage door button (when I left the garage) and it opened back up for them to enter and steal bikes.

Bike is a full-suspension, downhill mountain bike. The main-frame is a 2013, the rest of the bike is mixed. Altogether, the bike looks nearly new and is in almost new condition. It is a VERY unique bike and I have never seen another one in real life. It is also a very large bike with 2 1/2" wide off-road tires (looks like a dirt bike from a distance). The bike is completely black and sits very high as it is a full-suspension. It is easy to distinguish from a distance and has a very thick frame. The name of the bike "G-Spot" is also very noticeable. The frame also has skull decals in various locations. The tires are Maxxis "High Roller," off-road wide tires. VERY UNIQUE bike. As I only bought the front part of the frame for replacement last year, I was not able to obtain the last 2 numbers on the Registration number.

I brought the bike up to the 3rd floor of 2609 W Potomac where it is the top and only apartment on the 3rd floor. I went in to say hi to my friend for less than 10 minutes and even left the door open so I could hear anyone coming up. The gate at the bottom of the apartment was closed. I wedged the bike into place on the 3rd floor and could see it from inside the apartment. The thief apparently followed me and quietly took the bike down the stairs. Upon coming outside, I noticed the bike was gone and the gate was left wide open. I probably missed him by seconds or mere minutes. The thief headed East upon stealing the bike as there was a road crew working at the next block West and they did not see anyone ride by in the last few minutes.

I work at Water Tower Place and rode my bike to work. I locked it around 11:20am and when I got off work just after 5pm, it was gone. It was locked on the bike rack on Pearson St. by the back entrance to the mall. I spoke with mall security and the mall manager, who were of no help. It was locked with an armored cable lock through the frame and front tire.
