Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I had parked the bike on a residential street, as described in the rest of the report. Due to various circumstances, I was unable to return for it until the following day, when it was no longer there. I found no sign of the bike or the lock, and there were no tool marks on the signpost to which it was locked.

The thieves broke into my garage and stole my bike! I've had this bike for a *very* long time, and I have great memories of riding it through various stages of my life and in the various places I have lived. The bastards who stole it obviously don't care about that, but I really want my beloved bike back. Also, I can't commute to work anymore without my bike.

Bike was locked on black Arch shaped bike rack 30 feet south of Renaldi's Pizza. I was having a late lunch inside - I came out and my bike was gone, there was a beat up Trek Mountain bike in its place I spoke to 2 Chicago PD Officers on bikes, they advised I file a report. I also hung around and a male approx 45 blond hair, thin, about 5'9" (gruffy looking) came up to the bike that was locked there, starting messing around with the bike. When he noticed I was watching him, he backed away very nervous and walked away. I have a picture of him, willing to share. Renaldi's did not see anything on their camera's. But gave the same description of the person they caught steeling a bike 2 years ago. They saw him 2 days ago riding an expensive bike, they do not believe he could afford a bike like that. The 4 bikes were left over night on a populated street. I'm assuming they were stolen between the hours of 3-5am after the bars closed and there were limited people on the streets.

looked like that bike. had it parked out side of the loyola station for some time and it was just gone, couldn't believe that. Please help me recover my bike. Ed- self-locked with round-key U-lock.

Left for school in a hurry, bike was locked to itself, and made to look as if locked to table, roommate came home 2.5 hours later and bike was gone from back porch, table and chairs had been moved.

I believe that someone who lives close to me stole my bike and has seen me riding my bicycle leaving to and from my garage and know I store my bicycle in the garage. I think they cased my garage and broke into the garage door by sliding a coat hanger at the top of the garage door and releasing the emergency release handle.

The bike was locked between the hours of 6 PM and 9 PM on Thursday, August 23rd to a bike rack with at least 20 others bikes on the corner of Canal and Monroe. The lock was cut and taken with the bike.

Locked my bike up in front of school, went in for a few hour and when i came out it was gone.

U-Locked and cabled two bikes. The U-lock was not attached to my frame. The thieves cut the cable, separated the two bikes and stole mine NOTE: The photo uploaded is of the same frame as mine... I changed the fork color to match. My bike had distinctive "SPOX" wheels

My bike was locked to my back porch at 5:30 pm. When I left my apartment at 7:30pm, the railing of the porch that it was locked to had been kicked off and my bike was taken.

The bike was locked to a metal table in a closed shed under our back porch. The lock may still be attached. They removed the leg of the table to get the bike off. I had not set the rear wheel lock. It is missing one pedal reflector but is otherwise in very good shape.

I was on vacation for five days. I returned on August 23 to find that my bike had been taken from the locked basement of my apartment building.

Bike stolen sometime between 1:00 AM and 9:00 AM on August 26th. It was U-locked to a street sign.

I had gone to see a movie at Music Box Theater at 7:30 p.m. When I came out at 9ish, the bike was still there. We decided to get a drink across the street. Though it was night, it was Saturday and people were walking around and businesses open. When we came back at 10:20, the bike was gone without a trace. It must've been someone who was quick and discreet to get through my cable lock. Very sad not to have my LeMond!

Just locked it up while I was packing groceries up to apartment and came back to nothing. :(

Bike was secured with Kryptonite cable lock through bike frame and front tire to rack on north side of Western brown line stop at 9pm, and both bike and lock were missing when I returned at 1:30am.

I locked my bike underneath the back yard porch at 2630 W Evergreen at about 10:30 pm, locked only to itself with a Kryptonite U-Lock attached to its frame and back tire. I left the residence at 1:30 am with the wooden door to the back parking lot wide open and my bike missing. No suspicious characters, next door neighbor said something inaudible as I was walking in the property with my bike.

I left my bike within a locked gate behind the apartment building. I usually lock it to the fence but was planning on leaving again soon. I was inside my apartment for 2 hours and when I returned the bike was gone with my helmet and u-lock which had been in the back crate lying on the ground outside the gate. Courteous thieves!
