Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Locked up my bike when I got to work (I’m a resident at northwestern memorial hospital), at the end of my day I walked out and there was no bike at the rack.

Bike was stolen from garage.

Bike stolen from locked storage room in basement. Bike was not locked, but in a locked room. The lock was ripped off the door.

Bike was missing from 3rd floor porch with broken balcony.

Stolen from inside of garage. Smart garage door opener shows single period of 20 minutes with garage door open.

They cut the lock at around 10 AM

Bike and cargo trailer were left next to garage in alley for about 10-15 minutes while I was inside loading up for my next trip - moving by bike and had just made one trip to new place. Came outside with next load at about 3:15, bike was gone, trailer was left behind.

The locked door of the designated bike parking garage in the apartment building was pryed open, the bike was locked to a cable bolted to the cement wall that was cut, and the bike and U-lock were gone. Bike was last used Dec 9th, so it was taken some time in a 10-day window.

The bike was located on the second floor balcony. There is no staircase that leads up to the balcony and the only way to the balcony is through the apartment. We were away from the apartment and our neighbor who witnessed the incident mentioned that the thieves climbed up the fence to get to the balcony, threw the bike down and rode away on it.

taken from inside of locked apartment building sometime between 12/18/22 and 12/28/22. --On 5/18/23 victim wrote us to say the bike was recovered: "I have since then recovered my bike. On April 29 I found my bike locked up on the corner of Church and Benson in Evanston around 1pm. I had Evanston police come and cut the lock on my bike."

I entered bike storage room at 7:25pm to check on bicycle and noticed lights were off in the room and that my bike along with several others were missing. My bike’s heavy duty U-Lock and metal cable were missing along with the entire bike. Other bikes in the storage room were either entirely missing or had tires stolen. My bike had been locked up for roughly 2 weeks before I checked on it yesterday. There are security cameras in the bike room but the property managers are not helping at this point. Additional info: The bike room is locked using an electronic key-fob system. To enter the room, one needs an electronic key- fob provided by the property manager to unlock the door. There was no sign of forced entry. When I entered, the bike room was automatically locked, as is typical. Possibilities of entry include: owner of a key fob entered, someone stole a key fob, they figured out a way to electronically hack into the room without a key fob, or other.

No idea exactly when bike was stolen. have not been riding it due to surgery recovery. use the back stairwell where bike was locked every few days and noticed it missing on Dec 21, 2022.

Bike was stolen out of a shared garage through the back door. Happened sometime during that day 8:00am - 6:00 pm

I was living in the high rise at 811 W. Agatite. My bike was locked to a rack in the building's bike storage area. The Building Management decided there were too many bikes that had been abandoned by previous tenants, so they gave everyone in the building a sticker to put on their bike ("UPTOWN 811"), intending to remove bikes without stickers. I put a sticker on my locked bike. The bike was still there after the culling of the abandoned bikes had taken place. But about a week later, I went to get my bike and it had disappeared. Therefore I can't give a precise date when it was stolen. It was sometime in the month of September, 2022. Thank you for your help.
