Bike was locked to a bike rack in front of FFC Halsted at 3228 N. Halsted. Guy with drill was seen cutting lock. Gym staff saw and tried to stop, but wouldn't stop drilling and sparks were flying. Gym staff called police who arrived after guy took off on bike. Police tried to go after, but didn't find him.

It's a beater of a mountain bike, with a gel seat with a tattered cover, glow-in-the-dark handlebar grips and a front wheel that's been painted several different colors. The frame is aluminum or perhaps an alloy - very light. It had a seatpost bag containing hand cream, a clear plastic poncho, chap stick and one of those string backpacks. Bike answers to the name of Fury, which basically describes the only emotion I am currently capable of feeling.

Bike was locked to a city bike lock at the corner of E. Jackson Blvd and S. Michigan Ave., on the sidewalk right by a Divvy station. No other bikes were locked there, but we figured it would be safe enough. When we returned, we saw that the bike was missing, along with one helmet that had been locked to the bike. The thieves left the other helmet clipped to the bike rack, as a nasty taunt.

My bike was in a locked back courtyard/porch area. We have new neighbors that have been moving in, and it is possible that they left the courtyard gate open. Sometime between Saturday at 7pm (when i last rode it and brought it home) and Monday night at 9pm (when I went out to the courtyard) the bike was taken. No locks appear to to have been broken, there is nothing else that has been taken from the courtyard.

I locked the bike up at 8:00am at the Irving Park Blue Line station, where probably 25 other bikes were also locked to bike racks. I have a thick, red combination cable lock that I used to lock the bike to the rack (I wrapped it twice through both to keep it tight). I returned after work at 5:30pm to find both bike and lock missing. Any help would be appreciated.

Poor condition. Lots and lots of nicks from daily U-lock use as a courier especially concentrated on the top tube and the seat tube where it meets the top tube.. New synthetic leather bar tape. Tear in the back left area of the synthetic brown saddle. Dirt Guard with initials MLH written near the the part where it connects to the post (difficult to see). There is a Boombotix Handlebar mount. There is a Wald #80 splash guard over the front wheel. Front wheel was nearly spent. The rim is in terrible condition and one of the spokes had come loose. The front tire also needed to be replaced. The tires are Continental Travel Contact. The rear wheel and tire are somewhat new. The rim is a Velocity No BS rim. I had installed MKS Lambda Pedals. They are unique looking pedals.

This may have happened overnight in the early morning of the 15th, but I think it happened that afternoon around 2:30pm. A piece of the U Lock was left behind. It was a smooth cut so a portable electric sawing tool must have been used. It was locked to the fence in the back area or our apartment complex. Some of the tenants like to prop the gates open which takes away the first level of security. This was likely done in broad daylight. I am surprised that no one saw this happen as I would expect the noise of the saw to be noticeable. Perhaps some my neighbors collaborated with the thief?
