Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I typically keep my bike inside overnight. Upon returning home from work, I was distracted and left it on my front porch. The next morning it had been taken, front gate left open.

My bike was in the back seat/trunk of my 91 Honda Civic Wagon. I hadn't brought it in that night because it was raining. It was parked on our property's dedicated parking space behind our house, next to a small garage. The next morning the car was gone, including the bike and all other contents. The only evidence left was some damage to the garage door, showing attempted forced entry.

I locked the back in the back of the restaurants yard. The restaurant is located in Logan square off of Armitage and kedzie Blvd.

Newly purchased Mongoose hot shot was removed from a locked gate yard after 8:30 AM Tuesday.

It was my girlfriend's bicycle locked to the pipe in the storage room. It seems like an inside job.

Bike was stolen on University of Illinois campus locked in view of students. It was broad daylight and he had tools with him to cut the lock. Security cameras caught the incident. The teacher of the class and the entire classroom saw the incident. The person who stole it was African American, overweight with an orange hoodie. Report filed with the university.

unlawful entry into garage and stole the bike

Went into my work building to grab keys (I'm a dog walker, needed keys for dogs' homes). My co-workers and I all leave our bikes out front when we go in to grab keys. When I came out, only my bike was stolen.

Used the bike daily. Last used on 4/9 and was seen locked up at 9:00 PM. Woke up the morning of 4/10 at 5:30 AM and the bike was gone. I had a cable lock going through both wheels and a U lock attaching frame to the bike rack. The U lock was found snipped and left at the scene.

Locked to rack in front of Treasure Island grocery at 1639 N Wells St, just north of North Ave. Locked with a kryptonite cable, along with two other bikes in high pedestrian traffic area, due to not having u-lock key with me. Cable was cut. My bike was sandwiched between the two other bikes. Outside bike was left, not stolen. And inside bike did have ulock through frame to bike rack, and was not stolen.

Car was broken into that had the bike. Location was West Garfield Park. Near Adams and Hamlin

Locked up my bike at 8:45am.

Fuji Sportif 1.5 was u-locked to orange All-City Macho Man - and both were cable locked to bike rack in front of Lakeview Athletic Club. Busy street but no one saw anything. No merchants have video. 30 minute window.

All-City Macho Man (orange 55cm) was locked to Fuji Sportif (u-locked) - and both were cable locked to bike rack in front of Lakeview Athletic Club at 3212 N. Broadway. Street was busy with pedestrians and traffic. Theft took place between 3:35 and 4:10. No video from any of the merchants - nor did they report seeing anything.

My wife and I went down to Lincoln Park Zoo, locked our bikes out front, went in for 60 minutes, and when we came out they were gone. Both of them and hers is a brand new Nishiki , black with some hot pink. (She bought it on Thursday). Picture is of my wife's bike.

Husband left garage door open when he left to pick up dinner, both of my bikes were stolen in the 30 min time span. My road bike (Orbea) was still wrapped in bubble-wrap from our move. The thief rode his bike directly into our garage (we have him on video and can see him clearly), threw my lock (which was loose around the seat) under a cabinet in the garage and unwrapped all the saran and bubble wrap off the bike before riding off on his bike with it. He returned on foot less than 3 minutes later and proceeded to ride off on my Trek commuter bike (baby seat on the back and all). We think he lives in the neighborhood and saw that the garage door was left open.

Rear door of apartment complex was found open, door leads to basement storage area. Multiple bikes were taken from the storage area through the back yard of the apartment.
