Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I bike commute with my son to his daycare. Two times a week I lock the bike overnight (Monday and Wednesday nights). I arrived Tuesday morning and found the bike missing from a covered plaza on the UIC campus.

Bike was stolen between the hrs of 11pm and 6am off our back deck. Deck faces alley, we live on the third floor. The bike was u chained to deck. The rail was broken to remove bike and lock.

Bike was locked at the Clybourn Metra stop and gone once I returned. It appears that it was someone with experience as only the rubber part over the lock and one metal piece of the U-lock was left at the scene.

Bike was stolen from locked garage through side entrance along with another bike overnight. Both bikes have wheels locks

Bike was locked along with Raleigh beach bike. Cable was wrapped around both bikes and around bike post. Just to the right of the main entrance of Lincoln Park Zoo. Presumably cable portion of lock cut and lock taken with the bike.

Bicycle was locked in front of NorthEast Entrance of Lincoln Park Zoo. Was chained to bike rack. Came out of zoo, bicycle was gone, cable was left on the ground, cut in half.

Bike was locked with 2 U-locks. One locked through front tire and frame to bike rack outside Forest Glen Metra station. It was locked up at 8:15am and gone by 5:03pm. The thief left behind part of the lock - the locking bar. It was a clean cut through the U, right at the locking bar, pretty clearly with a grinder.

Bike was left unattended for less than a minute was reported to be stolen by Asian guy

Two doors to my apartment building, I have to keep my bike right in front of apartment while unlocking doors. I left my bike there standing right next to my stoop while putting away groceries. I live on a very family, residential quiet street. Especially because I was just putting away groceries I did not think anything of it. In that time frame though, my bike was stolen. A little too trusting I now have found myself but these things happen. Now I know. Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Bike was removed from the bottom of a pile leaning up against the wall in a locked basement.

Locked bike up before work. Went out later on during the day and bike was gone.

It was stolen in front of Starbucks, I was in there no more than 3 hours.

2 bikes were stolen as they were locked together on one rack: my wife's and I.

Opened door externally & stole my bike out of my garage

The bike was taken some time between late afternoon October 12 and 8:15 am October 17. We were out of town during that time although in-laws staying at the house. The bike was in unlocked garage.

Brake cables were cut and handlebars, gear shifters, and brake pads were stolen from the bicycle. Bike was locked to rack in apartment storage room requiring entry through two locked doors.

Bike was locked to a rack on the back porch of my apartment in Oak Park. At some point on the night of Oct. 16 or the morning of Oct. 17 the bike and the rack it was locked to was removed from the porch.

Bike was locked in a shared common basement area shared by only 3 other tenants. Building common areas were rekeyed July 28, however the locksmith and building management were negligent because I was able to find a side basement door still keyed to the old lockset!
