Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was parked in garage. Went on vacation for a week from June 21 - June 29 and noticed bike was gone when I returned. Garage is shared with 5 other people and they sometimes leave door open. It is likely that door was open and someone walking the back alley went into garage and took bike.

I had been keeping in my friend's garage for a week. They went on vacation, came back and discovered my bike was missing from their garage.

Bike was locked up under the stairs at 7am this morning, came home at 5 and it was gone.

I locked my bike up outside of the Urban Cargo thrift shop. I pulled the lock through my bike and wheel and went inside. I left the thrift shop and drove with a friend a few blocks away for about 10 minutes and saw my bike locked up from down the block. As we pulled up, she pulled across the street and I saw a man standing near the bike rack wearing a white shirt. I didn't really get the best look at him because I was in the car and didn't really think anything of him mulling around. By the time I got out of the car and crossed the street, my bike frame and back wheel were both gone and only my front wheel and lock were left. I do have a quick release wheel and I was positive I locked it correctly.

Workers in the backyard left the garage door open momentarily and a scavanger in a burgundy truck apparently took the bike from inside the garage.

The bicycle was professionally mounted to the ceiling of my (2) two car garage. The garage door was pryed-open and the bicycle was stolen from an enclosed private garage, with alley access between Superior Street & Chicago Avenue. Garage door left open over night...thief stole the Kona Honky Tonk and left his crappy "BCA Glacier 300" bike behind. I filed a police report that morning, 6AM.

Cutting the grass in the front of the house, left the service door of the garage unlocked. Suspect thief entered yard and saw door ajar or tried the door and found it open, entered, removed the bike. It was sitting in the middle of the garage unlocked. It had just been tuned up at Get a Grip Cycles three days earlier and still had the service tag stapled to it.

While I was swimming on the lake at ohio beach, my bike was stolen from the bike rack it was attached.

I tried shipping this bicycle to my girlfriend. The last scan by UPS was in Hodgkins, IL. They claim to have lost the bike. It may have been delivered to someone by mistake, or stolen I suppose. Hoping if someone sees or recognizes this bike in the area that they will let me know.

The bike was parked in front of a building all day, not sure when it was taken. I thought i had locked the bike tire to the frame and to the bike rack but when i came back only the tire was there.

The bike lock was cut and the bike was stolen from a locked, gated parking lot. I believe it was lifted over the 8 ft. metal gate. It is very difficult to see the bike from the alley, but the yard it was taken from is next to an alley. The picture shows a yellow basket by the yellow basket liner was not in the basket.

i don't know exactly my bike was stolen, it was the most horrible experience it has happened to me as loosing an item, this was my first expensive transportation vehicle i had made and i bought it myself for one of my birthdays in 2010.

I was working and a friend was waiting for me at a nearby restaurant. He came back to sit in front of my store and noticed a guy standing by our bicycles. After the guy left (Approx 12:10) he went to check to make sure both bikes were locked. After confirming both bikes were locked, he started to work on his laptop; at one point, about 5 minutes later, he noticed the same guy walking close to the bikes but he continued on. At 12:20 he stopped working for a second and looked and noticed my bike was missing but his was still there. The incident was captured on a surveillance camera, however we are waiting for the security director of the building to access the footage.

I asked a friend to watch my bike while I went inside. They left without telling me and by the time I came out, it was gone.
