Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My bike was in the far back part of my yard as I went to take groceries inside. The perpetrator(s) had to go through a chain link fence, across my yard and onto my deck, about 20 yards, in order to remove the bike. A neighbor saw suspicious activity by well dressed Hispanic and African American teenagers.

The bike was kept in the lobby behind a locked door or the apartment building I live in. I left Saturday, May 24 around 3pm and it was still there, when I returned home today (Monday, May 27) it was missing. The first door to the building is unlocked, but the next door which the bike was behind is locked so whoever stole it had to have broken into the building. The picture attached is not one i took, but the exact same model and color as the one stolen.

The bike was locked to a bike lock station (the upside down U's staked into the pavement). Location was on the east side of Ravenswood street, just North of Wilson. About a 30 second walk to the Irish bar on Wilson/Ravenswood. When I went to get my bike at around midnight, the bike was gone and just a little piece (inch long) of the U-lock was left on the sidewalk, which is how I know it was cut. Also, the stakes that held lock station into the pavement were loose, so it is possible they tried to first pull the whole station out of the ground.

Locked my bike last night and this afternoon my Roomate called to say it was gone. The lock looked like it had been worked on for a very long time and was bent and destroyed but left. I only had the bike for a month and never left it outside.

I was in my apt. and someone broke in while I was passed out on Allergy medicine. They also took a laptop computer and a Kindle HD with my cell phone. A Police report has been filled.

Bike was locked outside of the Blue Line Damen stop in an area with lots of foot traffic and visibility.

The bike was taken from a locked garage (access granted with an opener only given to residents) that did have a fence in the back. It was the only bike taken as the rest of the bikes were locked with the U-shaped locks. I suspect that either someone from my building (who has access to the garage) cut the lock and took the bike up to their apartment, or more likely, someone jumped the fence in the bike and cut the lock and took the bike and lock with them.

Mountain Bike was stolen from the Park Millennium locked bike storage area.

I went to ride my bike. Upon entering the storage room with my key (no signs of forced entry), I found my bike missing.

The bike was locked to a bike rack outside of Kent Law School on the sidewalk during a weekday and was missing an hour later.

Somebody broke in the building I work , whoever stole the bike picked it among three other bicycles

My bike was in the front yard of a locked gate to an apt. unit. The thief went through another gate apprx 50 yards away and through several landscaping bushes, dividing the other front apt yards, to retrieve my bike. Eye witnesses say suspect was male, Latino, 20's with mustache.

Incident was caught on camera but too blurry to make out a face. at 7:36 PM - We locked two of our bikes to a parking meter at 9:20 PM - Thief arrives with cutting device in backpack. Cut's the cable and leaves on the bike. Black male wearing a black hat backwards, black pants, white shirt and black back pack.

Bike was in lower rack in rear of garage. Cable was through frame and connected to another bicycle (older mountain bike) to make pulling it out difficult, especially with cars in the garage. Cable was cut, and just the Bianchi was taken.

Was at an event at a nearby hotel, locked up bike at 8AM with cable lock, returned a little before 12PM to discover bike had been stolen.

Bike was locked to bike rack in locked garage using cable lock. Rear wheel was locked to the frame using small kryptonite u-lock. Bike rack cable was cut and bike was carried away with the u-lock

My bike was locked to a pay for parking sign under the red line train station at Sheridan and Irving park. I got off the train and the entire pole that my bike was attached was on the ground. Someone broke the pole out the ground and stole the bike.

went out and noticed the missing bike and lock laying still attached to the fence.

The u-lock was still there but the cable through the wheels had been cut and the whole bike was gone. I was super nauseated and dizzy when I got off of my bike and locked it up, and cannot say for sure that it was properly locked up, but the cable was through the wheels and was cut.
