Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked with a new flat key U-lock and cable linking both rims, frame, and seat to the bike rack. Locked at 5:50 pm Saturday evening. Noticed to be missing at 9:15 pm. Bike, lock, and cable are missing.

The bike was parked at 4251 W. Irving Park Rd. in front of the Irving Park YMCA, locked to one of their bike locks. I was in the Y for two hours starting at 10:30 AM on April 20. There's a movie being filmed in the vicinity so all of the parking spaces are filled with movie trucks and sidewalk in the bike are not visible from Irving Park Road

Perpetrator jumped fence and broke into our locked garage where bike was stored.

The bike was locked to a handrail/banister and around the front tire and frame. Right as you walk into our building through the main entrance. I always be use our back door so I didn't notice right away. It wasn't until 8:20 that we got home from the gym that our son told us someone had knocked on our front door. I went to see if a note or something had been left and saw the bike was missing. I went straight outside and bumped into the tenant from the second floor who, coincidently, had gotten her bike stolen in the same fashion 2 weeks ago but hers was on the second floor. She told me my bike had been missing for a few hours. She, in fact, thought I was out riding it cuz she hadn't seen it since it. It looks like they must've cut the lock and taken it with them as the banister is still intact and there is no debris in the area and no lock. No idea as to how they could've gotten into the building as that front door is supposed to be locked, this was the same thing I thought 2 weeks ago when our neighbor's bike was stolen.

was locked outside of roosevelt university 425 s Wabash, i went out around 8 for a cigarette and it was there left around 945 to go get bike and it was gone. security has the tapes, they have it on camera of it happening it was 3 guys.

My bike was stashed unlocked and underneath our back stairs right by my back door at about 5:30 pm. i was going to secure it in our bike storage room later. when i went outside again at 9 pm, it was gone.

Someone unscrewed my bike from the bike rake and left the front wheel and lock

The Recyclery, an educational bike shop in Rogers Park, was burglarized after closing for the night.

Front wheel was locked to bike rack (newer U-lock with flat key), wheel was removed from frame, freeing frame, allowing frame to be carried away, unhindered by lock. Bike hadn't been checked on since mid-March, 2016, so it's unclear exactly when the bike was taken.

Came out of the train station onto Washington bike racks and found the bike was missing. Found the cap of the Kryptonite New York lock I had on the bike. Cap shows signs of being cut. Bike was locked through the front wheel and the frame with a kryptonite cable going through the bike rack and rear wheel. I don't have a current photo of it, so stock photo uploaded.

Bike was attached to pole in front of apartment secured with a U-Lock through the frame. Front tire was stolen on 4/14 but bike was still attached to pole (pole has signage so bike cannot be lifted above it. Before a new wheel could be bought, the entire bike was stolen early morning 4/16.

Went into my garage behind 5857 N. Winthrop and discovered my bike, which was locked with a cable and u-lock to the garage wall, had been stolen. The cable had been cut and the bike as well as the lock are gone. There is a glass block window with a small vent that had been popped out to gain entry. The fenced in gangway was also open.

Bicycle was locked in front of Helwig Recreation Center at North Park University. The man who stole the bike was photographed on University cameras. He approached the bike at 5:41pm, worked on the lock, the road off with the bike at 5:45pm. I believe that he picked the lock or cut it, but took it with him. The man that stole the bike was about 5'10", with a coat and a bright orange backpack.

I locked my bike at my job outside. I went out to go on lunch and its completely missing. There is no trace of it ever being there. I reviewed in store footage but couldn't see anything.

This was one of two bikes stolen overnight. Typically lock bikes to 2nd floor porch guardrail, but forgot to do so that night. Bikes are visible from the alley.

Bike was locked inside the entrance of a garage, right outside the main entrance of XSport Fitness in Lincoln Park. I was in the gym for an hour and when I left it was gone.

I typically keep my bike inside overnight. Upon returning home from work, I was distracted and left it on my front porch. The next morning it had been taken, front gate left open.
