Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I locked my bike at a rack inside my condominium garage at approximately 12:30 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2016. The bicycle's frame was locked inside the lock loop that the bike rack provided. Through that loop, my helmet was also locked. At 6:50 PM, the bicycle was stolen by a man with a dark-colored goatee wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and a black and orange baseball cap. I discovered that my bike was missing 24 hours after the theft. Finally, on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:24 AM, my condo association discovered that its security video footage caught the burglar stealing my bike and helmet on videotape.

On September 20th (time unknown) my tenant reported that my remote controlled overhead garage door was open. I was staying in the suburbs at the time. When I returned on September 25th, I discovered my bike was gone. I had a contractor working at my house that day who had access to the garage to install a light. I have discovered my garage door being open in the past-I have been told that other remotes in the area can open my garage door.

I can't remember if I locked it or not, but I left it in our sunken porch when I got back from groceries Mon night, and when I left about 7:45am Tues morning, it was gone. I can't find a photo of my bike right now, but I do have a short close up video from when I had to replace brakes earlier this year, if anyone's seen it i can verify with that.

I was picking up my daughter from swim practice at northside college prep on n. Kedzie Ave. I ran inside to grab her and made the mistake of leaving the bike unlocked for a few minutes. When i returned it was gone. Taken from the south entrance.

Bike was was locked to rack west of Divy station on Division just west of Ashland. North side of street in front of CVS. No windows on that side of business.

I put my bike on the back porch, came out 10 min later and it was gone.

Making a delivery pick-up in front of pierrot gormet near the peninsula hotel. Bike was snatched immediately,

Bike was locked to a metal fence outside an apartment in East Rogers Park around 7:30pm. When I left at around 10:40pm, the bike was gone. The cable had been cut and was left along with the helmet. Another friend with a bike had left not long before and didn't have any incidences, so the theft must have been close to the time I left. The bike was second-hand, and I am unsure of its exact model/year.

Bike was taken between 8pm and 10 am. I ride it everyday and checked with property staff and the city, who do not have it. Very nice mountain bike. If someone sees a size large, matte black Giant near the city please let me know.

Bike was locked on our 2nd floor fire escape/back patio. Rear of Nike Running Bucktown. Happened overnight, not sure exact times. The area is a high locked fence, maybe offender climbed dumpsters to gain access.

Bike was stolen from a rack in front of Chicago Bagel Authority on Armitage (by brown line stop) sometime between 12:30 and 3:30 on 9/24. Two bikes were locked together and to the bike rack with two locks. Both locks were cut through but only one bike was stolen.

Parked outside the Yolk restaurant in 500 west madison street, chicago around 8:55 am CST. We came out of restaurant by 10 AM cst and the bike was missing

I saw that someone else in my building found the rope part of their lock cut, it was left in the foyer. So I went to look and mine was gone as well.

Entered into an unlocked garage and took the bike from the wall, along with 2 other bikes

The bike was locked to a metal fence. It was there all morning and when checked again at 5pm, it was gone along with the lock.

Bike was inside a wrought iron fence. , on coming home found my helmet, water bottle, and lock thrown in the bushes on my driveway
