Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was locked in the same location I lock it everyday for work. Metra station has 20+ bikes locked up, many appear to be abandoned. Not a ton of foot traffic during the middle of the day, someone probably just walked by and cut through the lock.

I have left my bike locked and unlocked to a railing in my second floor hallway (small apt. building, 6 units.) for 10 months. Didn't lock it last night. My roommate came home from work at 1:00am with her bike, left it beside mine and went to bed. I walked out the door at 7:00am to ride to work, both bikes gone, same with the neighbors. No sign of damage to the downstairs lock, but the back rolling gate to the alley that protects the driveway was left ajar (this is usually locked by my landlady), which makes me believe the bikes were loaded into a truck in the alley. No signs of damage to the lock downstairs door, so I'm guessin roommate left it open by accident.

Bike was locked to bike rack in locked bike room in condo building. When I went to get the bike today, only the cut bike lock was found.

Bike was taken from a locked storage room with other bicycles. Last seen on Monday and missing on Wednesday morning. Other bicycles had to be moved to get access to this bike.

The newer u-lock w/flat key must have been just around the tire because when I came back the bike was gone except the bike wheel was attached to lock. It was right outside the Ballys Century City/ Aveda area on Clark and Diversey. It was on bike rack outside the Jimmy Johns. Thank you if you find it!!!

I locked my bike up at approximately 4pm, went inside LPAC to work out and when I returned at 5pm it was gone. I only left it for approximately 1 hr and someone stole it in broad daylight.

The bike is locked to a bike rack in front of US Bank on Wabash near Washington at 7am. It was still there when I checked it at noon, but at 4:00pm it was gone. The entire bike was taken and the thief left the lock there. The lock appear to have been opened and there wasn't any damage on it.

I went to the Museum of Science and Industry, locked my bike outside, when I was finished, the bike was gone.

Note that this is a picture of the same model in a different color; ours is black with blue trim. The bike was cable-locked to the inside of our metal-fence in our front yard. The yard gate locks, so the thieves had to have jumped/climbed the fence, cut the cable, lifted the bike out, and climbed back out. This happened, for sure, at night.

I got home at 7:30 am. Left my bike as usual on the back porch on the 2nd floor apt which is behind a 12 foot fence and a locked gate. In the 20 mins it took me to grab clothes and food, someone had unlocked the gate grabbed the bike and left the gate wide open. You can not see the bike from the street level so someone has obviously been watching me as I do this everyday.

The bike was locked by it's frame to a street sign on a quiet residential street over night. When I came up in the morning the sign was laying on the grass after having been cut at it's base. The bike was gone along with the u lock.

i had a lock and i was the only one that knew the code and when i nwas unlocking it my borther saw me do the code and he knew the code and he is a big stealer the next day i go down to the basement to get my bike its gone and i like break down cause that ment alot and got me ever where thats was like a 400 doller bike and he stole it and know has it but wont tell the truth he is bad i need my bike back please help so we can and talk to him to get it i think he hid it some where like the forest or he gonna sell it to his friends for bad stuff please call me i need help to find this 1630 805 1213

My bike was locked to a No Parking sign with a newer u-lock with a flat key. The thief probably stood on the bike and removed the sign from the post and lifted the bike up and off the sign post.

I last saw my bike in the side yard of my 3-unit building on Sunday night, July 10, at about 8pm. On Monday morning, July 11, at about 7am, I went out to ride to work, and found it missing. My roommate's bike, also unlocked, was still on the scene. The side yard is behind a 6-foot high solid wooden gate, and is not visible from the street. We've had some problems recently with the gate not latching at blowing open in the wind.

While the bike picture is not my exact bike it is very similar. My bike was locked to a No Parking sign in the parkway just left of the driveway to my apartment building. After I returned home from dinner on Sunday night my bike was still where I had locked it and when I left for work on Monday morning at 7:00am I am 99% sure it was still there but when my boyfriend left for work half an hour later the bike was not there. The bike along with the lock were taken but the street sign appears undisturbed. I have only been locking my bike in this location since June 23rd and would ride it to work (a mile away) locking it each night to the street sign due to the fact there is no gate, bike rack, or bike storage at my building. If the lock was cut, I would assume it would have been left behind but the fact that the bike and the lock are gone leads me to assume the bike and lock might have been lifted over the sign but I don't know how that would be possible or how it would go unnoticed... The bike was a gift from my mom and I have only had it since Father's Day (June 19th) of this year. This is my second bike to be stolen in two-years so to get it back would be so amazing but I know the odds of that are worse than slim.

Someone cut my u lock and ran off with my bike

i left my bike outside of my friend's apt. i left my bike unlocked because i was on my way over to another friends house. Plans changed and i stayed the night where my bike was, completly forgetting that it was unlock. the next morning it was missing. it could of been stolen during any time of the night.

http://velospace.org/node/16790 not the same bike, but similar body. it had white drop handle bars, plenty of scratches.... used but wonderful to ride. it was within the gate of the porch, was there for a month, wheels were not attached, underneath a blanket and behind other stuff. silly but it got stolen the day we meant to put it together. possibly stolen while friends were inside the apt pretty bummed about this

I locked my bicycle to the fence near the stairs and bike racks inside the turnstiles at the Logan Square CTA Blue Line stop between 8:30am and 9:00am on Monday, July 11. When I returned to the station around 6:45 pm, the bicycle was no longer there. There was no sign of the lock or my helmet that I had left hanging from the handlebars. I called CTA at 1-888-YOUR-CTA thinking the bicycle may have been removed by CTA employees because it was locked to the fence and not the bike racks (they were all full due to the crazy rain storm that morning). The woman I spoke to said that CTA does not remove bicycles from the fence and that it had likely been stolen.
