Bike was stolen from garage while the main door was left open.

Bike was left at the front of the building during Thanksgiving. I visited the place at 9:00 am. When i came for my bike at 3:30pm it was taken away.

I live in the basement and I put my bike under the stairwell under the first floor stairs. On Both sides of the stairwell their are cement blocks. The only way that you can see the bike is if you are standing directly in front of my basement door. I have been putting my bike under the stairwell since Spring of this year (2017)

Someone broke into the secured garage at 720 N. Larrabee and stole a Trek Lexa SL C bike. The bike was locked to a bike rack located in a parking spot with 2 locks on it (a snake and kryptonite lock). The snake lock was cut and the kryptonite lock was only secured to the front wheel, so the robber unattached the front wheel in order to steal the bike. They then stole the front tire of another bike locked on the rack in order to ride/roll the bike out. Unfortunately I don’t have a good timeline for when this theft occurred. I haven’t been down to the garage in roughly a month, so it could have occurred anytime over that period. I noticed the theft on November 19, 2017.

The bike was in a locked stairway of a church building. However, it was visible through glass from the street. It's possible someone exited through the locked door & it did not secure behind them, leaving someone an opportunity to enter & take the bike.

Bike was in my apartment

Locked bike up before work. Arrived to the bike rack on the street with nothing attached and no lock remnants.

Bicycle was left locked during the workday and stolen sometime between approximately 09:00 and 18:00. Bicycle locked to rack with Kryptonite New York Lock (one of the sturdier available U-locks) through the frame. Other bicycles of comparable value are left there. Rack is normally full during the workday. Location is well trafficked and well lit during the day, when the theft occurred. Lock was found still attached to the rack, and did not appear to be compromised. Because it is unlikely the thief picked the lock, removed the bicycle, and then relocked the lock onto the rack, suspected means of theft are either (1) user attached the lock to the rack but not to the bicycle, which enabled thief to simply walk away with bicycle or (2) the thief cut through the frame. Both seem strange. (1) is unlikely because use has been bicycle commuting every day for years and has not once failed to include the bicycle within the U-lock. Locking a bicycle is something one concentrates on while doing it, and it's hard to not apply the lock to the bike and not notice. (2) seems unlikely because locking the frame (vs the wheels only) is considered safe because sawing the frame would considerably diminish the value of the bicycle. In theory someone skilled may be able to TIG-weld the aluminum back together, though it would likely be apparent repair had been performed.

My bike was missing when I went to take it out for a ride. I had just returned from getting married and a honeymoon, so the bike may have been missing for a few weeks without me noticing. It was in our laundry room with the lock in the frame. I think the perpetrator carried the entire bike out whole with the lock so that they can cut it somewhere else.

Bike was locked to a metal railing inside the building...lock was cut with a power tool that required an outlet.

Bike was locked to back porch on second floor with u lock and cable. No damage to porch. I assume lock and cable were sawed through.

I came outside after work. I work in the Lyric Opera building (20 n Wacker). My bike which was locked with an ABUS lock through the front wheel/frame and a cable connecting the back wheel/frame to the bike rack was gone. There was no sign of shavings/clippings. The bike and lock were gone. It was almost as if the thieves unbolted the rack in order to take the bike.

Bike was on top floor of apartment building on private porch with a fenced and locked gate around the building.

Bike was stolen from basement of apartment building sometime between the evening of 11/11/17 and 11/13/17.

Locked up to the side of Mariano’s in front of parking garage entrance at 3:10. I worked out at LA Fitness and came out at 5pm to find it stolen with the u lock cut on the ground.
