Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bikes were stolen from the apartment basement garage and bikes were locked to the bike rack with a combination lock.

Was storing my bike in the basement of our apartment building. The door, which is hidden under the back stairway, was left unlocked and the bike was unlocked inside. The bike had been left in this location for months under these conditions without being stolen. It was stolen between August 8th and 17th, when I discovered it stolen.

Our garage was broken into and when I came home the door was open and the bike and Ulock that was on it was gone

Bike was locked with a Kryptonite U-Lock to a wooden table, affixed to the wall. Table was broken off from the wall to steal the bike along with the lock still attached. The robber had access to our basement because the lock to the basement door was broken, and our landlord did not fix it when we called, instead waited 12 hours in which time my bike was stolen.

My backpack, wallet and keys were stolen last Sunday and I lost my brand new Ulock in the incident because of the keys being lost. I have not been able to purchase a new lock so I have kept it in my locked inner courtyard. No one has keys to enter here except for a few residents we know. I was home at all times with it downstairs.

Someone (or people) broke into the basement of our building where laundry is. They sawed through the metal bike rack and took my bike. (It was locked with a newer U-lock--flat key.)

Bike was in garage at 3pm on August 21. At 2:30pm, the next day, it was gone. Believe this to have been a crime of opportunity (adjacent garage door was left accidentally open and so thief had access to other garage unit (mine) as well.

Locked bike to street sign when I went into work and when I came out to leave, it was gone along with the lock. No traces of the lock or bike. It was in view of the front of the building on a pretty busy street.

The fence was sawed through to remove the bike. I have kept the bike locked there all summer when not in use. Recently, we have noticed some new kids in the area that in retrospect seemed to be scouting the area. They commented on my boyfriends bike once, in a way that they wanted (and eventually planned) to take it. About a week ago, the lights on his bike were stolen, so maybe that was their way to scout out our apt building?

I know I should know better. Left the kid's bike unlocked in the garage while we went to dinner. Returned to find our garage door kicked in and her bike gone. Filed a report with the 14th precinct - HW- 419428

My bike was locked through the frame and both wheels to a light post at 280 S. Columbus Drive. It was in plain view of the front doors. When I came to fetch it near 4, all that remained of the Master Lock Cable with an Integrated Lock was parts of the key lock--it had been split in half and was left on the ground.

My bike was locked (with a newer U-lock with a flat key) to the fence in front of my porch. Someone cut through the bar of the fence and lifted my bike right out.

Bike was missing after playing volleyball at the Center on Halsted between 7:15 - 10:15

I left my bike locked up to a pole last night (Aug 21) and forgot to come back down and get it later to bring it up to my apartment. I came down this morning at 7:30am and the bike was completely gone.

Our truck was parked in front of our art studio at 3300 W Potomac. My bike was in the back of our pick-up truck with the door to the hatch locked. Sometime between 3 PM and 5 PM someone picked the lock to the truck hatch and stole my bike and Kryptonite U-lock. It is a large, pink, old-school looking road bike. It is a fairly unusual looking frame in that it is so tall and well-maintained for its age. Note: The photograph of the bike I chose is not my actual bike.

my bike was locked to the bike rack at the west entrance of the Chicago Field Museum while I was at work. I arrived around nine and when I left at 545 my bike was gone.
